This is a standard post office experience: if you don't come to the counter with your mail/packages addressed, they ask you to stand aside and wait. They are helpful, but their job isn't customer service. I had a lovely clerk who appreciated my tattoos and was patient while I called my recipient to confirm an address. The post office doesn't owe us a business customer service smile, and very few of them have time to be patient and helpful to everyone. But once you know "how to post office", they really are quite helpful. There's a decent size lot with 20 min parking and 15 min street parking in front of the building. 10/10, would visit this post office again.

IDK man. I love this post office. I live a few blocks away and walk here at least twice a week to drop off packages or letters. Admittedly, I rarely use the customer service window - I mostly purchase stamps online or use click-n-ship to purchase shipping labels for packages. I have used the customer service window a couple of times to purchase next day delivery and to certified mail some tax documents. Homie wasnt the friendliest but he knew his shit and was efficient- personally, love a competent grouch. I am english speaking and am familiar with how to mail stuff tho, so perhaps i had a good experience because i didnt evoke any ire. My mail carrier also does a good job. No missed deliveries, consistent informed delivery, picks up letters and packages as scheduled. Love her shes a baddie.

I was once allergic to the post office! I was always putting off getting things in the mail. Lately, I'm going in quite often after a job transition made me reliant on shipping ebay items for income. There have been times a whole line of people in front of me had errors or were unprepared for their transactions, and I have not seen staff handle customers with anything but patience and care. At other usps offices, I have seen people with housing or language barriers treated poorly. Not here. I have also been told by more than one person that the mail carriers at this hub are significantly more attractive than at other locations.

I really wish I could leave NEGATIVE stars. Before I could even ask my question I was told they wouldn’t ship my package because the edges weren’t flat. I send mail regularly to deployed service members, and often times the boxes will be convex at the seam because “if it fits it ships”. Not here, I didn’t even make it to the counter before an older woman yelled at me from across the store they wouldn’t be able to ship it like that. I simply told her I would go to my normal shipping location where I’ve NEVER had an issue like that. The women who work in this store need an attitude adjustment, and to stop being so nasty towards PAYING customers. Even if a customer is wrong, there is a more tactful way to communicate with them instead of yelling across the store at them, especially while other people are around. They all need to retire or get FIRED and hire more APPRECIATIVE, professional staff in this location. I will absolutely NOT go back there, and I will tell everyone in the area to stay away! City Heights already has a bad rep, the postal clerks are even awful. -5 stars from me.
