When the phone rang, an employee finally came out—but instead of acknowledging me or even letting me know they’d be right with me, they answered the call and spent several more minutes helping the caller while I stood there waiting. I was only there to pick up a package, but the lack of basic customer service made the whole visit unnecessarily unpleasant. Very disappointed.

To my surprise, the staff member assisting me — a woman with limited English proficiency — was rude and unhelpful from the start. She was not happy with my ID, so she told me I needed to provide the full tracking number. Fair enough, but while I understand verifying the package is necessary, the tone and lack of clarity in communication made the entire interaction feel unnecessarily difficult. What bothered me most was being asked what was inside the package. I told her it was private property and I wasn’t obligated to disclose that information — nor should any customer be. Package contents are confidential, and it’s unsettling to be questioned twice about what I’m receiving. It felt like a breach of privacy and completely inappropriate. FedEx should consider better training on customer service and privacy policies. It’s not the customer’s job to guide the employee through locating a package — that’s the whole point of the pickup process. This wasn’t the first time I’ve had a frustrating experience with FedEx staff, and it’s frankly disappointing from such a widely used company.
