- AEAmerican EagleFeb 3, 20261.0I went to renew my kids’ passports at the USPS office in Oakley, and after I completed the paperwork and went to pay, I paid $305.10 from my debit card, and the amount was deducted from my account. I asked the employee for a receipt, and she said there was no receipt available. Then she told me, “Oh, sorry, we can’t finish the paperwork for you right now because the system is down, so take your passports and come back in two or three days.” I asked her how that was possible since she had already taken my money, and I just needed a receipt so I could complete the process elsewhere. She said she couldn’t give me anything because the system was down. I asked how she could take my money and then just hand me my passports and not fix the issue. She then called the manager, who treated me very poorly in front of my kids and said there was nothing they could do, that there was no money to be refunded. I asked for a cash back since it was a debit card transaction, but she refused and wouldn’t process my passports. They asked me to leave and closed the door in front of me.
