I visited the post office at 1445 34th Ave, Oakland, CA, on 03/26/2026, ‘ and I had a very disappointing experience with customer service.
Three employees were working (one woman and two men), but they were not attentive to customers. They were using their phones and talking among themselves instead of helping people in line.
I had already driven 30 minutes to get there to drop off my order. When I returned from my car, I politely asked for help to close my package because I was in a rush to get back to work (I work from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM and could not come back later). However, both the woman and one of the men refused and said, “This is not our job.”
Their tone was rude and dismissive, and I felt disrespected as a customer. This level of service is unacceptable, especially for a public service location.
I am requesting that this location improve staff professionalism and customer service so others do not have the same experience.
Thank you.

Very bad experience at this USPS location. The employee was rude and completely unhelpful. I asked a simple question and was told, “it’s not my job.” No effort to assist at all. Extremely unprofessional.

They literally have one worker working…. This is a huge inconvenience!

My experience was very bad because I needed help and Mr. Carlos, who was attending, never tried to help me. He kept staring at his phone and looked angry.

I just slid through here, I walked in took a look around and walked back out! It had that old-school post office vibe. Wasn't feeling it at all! I didn't even see a kiosk! Even though they show one in the picture here and parking here is just dumb.
