- SLShannon LavelleMar 21, 20261.0Final collection times posted on the USPS website are NOT accurate as of 3/19/2026. I went to 3 different post offices in Berkeley/Oakland that day to try to drop off a letter before last collection, and found that the information posted online was incorrect for every. single. one. The two locations that I visited before this one (where I learned that the final collection times had already passed) had signs on the collection boxes stating that the last pickup in the area was here, at 8 PM. So, much to my dismay, I drove all the way across Oakland in hopes of sending my letter on its way that evening. Here, I found adjacent signs on the drop box noting three different "last collection" times - 6:00, 6:30, and 8:00 PM. It felt like a cruel joke. Get it together, USPS, please.
