  The one star is for the associate who helped me at the Copy & Print center. He had great customer service, explained the mistakes, and did his best to fix the situation on the spot. Unfortunately, my overall experience was terrible. I received a call the day my order was supposed to be ready asking if they could delay it, but I explained I needed it that same day because I was leaving out of town. When I arrived at my scheduled pickup time, the order was incomplete — the cards were misprinted and the poster hadn’t even been started. The associate worked quickly to reprint what he could, but the cards still came out upside down, and I had no choice but to take them. What upset me most was the manager. Instead of taking responsibility, he was trying to blame me for the situation over the walkie-talkie, and he never came over to apologize or speak to me directly. If not for the associate’s effort and discount to try to make things right, this experience would have been even worse.

  I rely on the Manteca Staples printing department for fast printing of marketing materials for tradeshows and events. I'm grateful for their staff - Monica, for example - being highly capable, thoughtful and reliable. They have the equipment and expertise it takes to create powerful displays in short order. I try to give them 24 hours because if I want their best effort, I know they need me to give them time. Oh, and they make their deadlines too.

  My experience here today is a great example of why people just don't go to these places anymore. The staff were friendly and nice, and that wasn't the issue it was the cost of what I needed done. I initially wanted to get 20 copies of a 40-page color document. Was going to print it double-sided, so a total of 400 pages. I went to the self-service copier and was quoted $550. No, that's not a typo. I couldn't believe it. I changed it to black and white. That was still $179. I finally ended up printing 7 copies black and white for $78 and paid $25 to scan and email it to someone to print the rest from my office. I will never again go to staples to print or copy something.
