Even though the package was in my name and I showed my valid California Real ID, the staff refused to release it because the address on my ID did not match the delivery address (my friend’s home). This was a “Hold at Location” pickup, so only name and photo ID should be required. Poor customer service and unclear policy — I had to call my friend to pick up my own package. I don’t think I will use FedEx again. I’ve been a customer for years and never experienced something like this. The person responsible for releasing the package claimed it was for “customer security,” yet refused to give me my own package. Who else could possibly pick it up with my ID? Truly shocking and disappointing.
