I normally don’t do reviews but after going to this place a few times I felt like I needed to. The owner of the store is a miserable human. He owns a ice business and seems totally unhappy about it. Doesn’t seem to enjoy his job at all and I recommend he retire. The other guy who works there is a decent guy I think it’s his son. I was doing an Amazon return and he was just rude as hell and didn’t change until I told him “hey if you can’t handle the job I’ll go somewhere else”. Probably makes a lot of money off Amazon but seemed really unhappy about doing it. If you hate your job that much sell the business or retire

To echo the other reviews here, I usually don't bother posting reviews unless service is outstanding or completely terrible. And this case it's the latter. I just experienced some of the worst customer service ever. I was simply trying to mail a few items and drop off some Amazon returns. The elderly man who appears to run the store was terrible to deal with. He was incredibly rude to not only me, but his employee working the register. I came completely prepared with all of my labels & QR codes ready to go to make the process fast and efficient for the store and he's still was exasperated with it taking more than 3 seconds to open up a new scan code, obnoxiously tapping the scanner loudly on the desk and making rude comments. When one single package needed a print out label I needed to get from home he looked at me and said "good." Get over yourself old man. I ship a lot for my business & will never use this store again. The one on Avenida Encinas is fantastic!

Customer service at this location, specifically from the elderly man who identified himself to me as the owner, is horrible and completely unacceptable. Will avoid this location with any future business I have with UPS. My experience is consistent with other reviews: no help or assistance, poor communication, and an overall lack of respect for the cliental. My specific issue involved the UPS option to automatically redirect packages to a designated access point. Our home is located down a set of stairs and does not have direct street visibility. We often have packages misdelivered as a result. I recently selected the automatic redirect option as a courtesy for the drivers and since it makes my life easier in the long run. That was true until my experience with owner at this UPS store. Previously, with a small shoebox sized package the owner made an off handed comment about why "they" would send it to his store. I didn't pay too much attention to this initially. Today, I went to the store ~1hr after receiving the pickup notification for another package. This delivery was on the large side, and I get it is a smaller store, but it was not flagged by the UPS app and the automatic redirect happened as usual. After the first employee tried to find my package and couldn't located it, the owner simply said "I sent it back, it was too big", then walked away with no explanation. I checked my app and indeed it did say that delivery was refused and they would try to deliver it again the next day, to the SAME location. I was asking for some clarification on exactly how I expect to receive my package, and there was no help at all. Dave scribbled down the address of another UPS store and said "try them" then walked away again. His decision to refuse my package is not part of the UPS policy, as confirmed by their customer service which I called immediately after. The pigheaded attitude of this owner as if this was my fault was unacceptable, if he has an issue with the UPS policy, he should take it up with corporate and not deflect to the cliental. The only useful part of this exchange was the owner's recommendation for the other UPS store "a mile up the street". Avoid his place and take your business there.

I don’t normally post reviews but I just feel that I need to prevent someone else from having the same experience. Last week I took my elderly mom who needed to notarize some forms and send the documents to the east coast. Dave was the notary. I believe he’s the owner. I wasn’t familiar with the documents and neither was my mom. That was our fault and maybe we should have reviewed them more ahead of time but it wasn’t clear cut. She asked Dave many times to make sure we were notarizing the correct pages and he was going through it and discarding some of the papers and not paying attention to us. My mom asked him very kindly if he could slow down and not rush and he ignored her. At the end he stated he wasn’t a lawyer and we needed to figure it out. It was a fair point since it was our responsibility, but his tone and rudeness were quite evident. I took the papers after he had notarized the ones that were designated for that and I spent some time reviewing them. After I felt confident that we had in fact completed what needed to be done we took the documents back to him to prepare for delivery. We made one ask which was to make sure they were delivered on a Monday. He said it was not guaranteed, again with rudeness. I was very tempted to walk away and in hindsight I should have but we were on a time crunch and I needed to get these to the East Coast. We packed the docs in the envelope and again asked him to clearly mark it as a Monday delivery. I handed him the face sheet of the documents so he could input the correct address which was clearly typed on the top. Fast forward to Monday and we get a call that says the driver never picked up the package over the weekend. It was completely unacceptable because my mom had told him multiple times that we wanted it there then and paid over $70 for the delivery. I’m not kidding, he laughed over the phone when she stated she was upset. He promised to deliver it the next morning. Guess what. The address he inputted was wrong and went to another location. We were able to get someone to retrieve it after using the tracking number Listen, I never want to bash someone’s business but man was this one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with someone. I would consider other options in the future. The only reason I felt the need to write this is that I hope it helps someone avoid a similar mess.

I had a very disappointing experience at this UPS location. I came in to do an Amazon return with a few small packages. Two older employees, Debra and Chrissy, saw me but didn’t acknowledge me at all. I waited about five minutes without any greeting or help. Eventually, a younger employee who recognized me from previous visits tried to get one of these older ladies to assist me, as he was busy doing a notary at the time. What struck me was that one of these ladies made an excuse, essentially refusing to come over to help me, and I could see the frustration on the younger employee’s face as if he was fed up with that behavior too. To add to the discomfort, when I stepped out to get another package, I saw an older white woman walk in to also do an amazon return and get immediate service and a friendly greeting. As a brown-skinned man, this felt like a clear difference in treatment and left me feeling there was some kind of bias or discrimination at play. I hope management addresses this so that all customers are treated equally and respectfully.
