The tree blocked the sun for the water 💦 didn’t dry up I slipped Due to running soapy water on driveway. Stay safe. 📨 Hardship Delivery Rule (Door Delivery Exception) USPS hardship delivery (PS Form 1528) is meant for someone who physically cannot access the mailbox due to a documented medical condition. 🔹 Key Rule: If another adult in the household is able to retrieve the mail, USPS will often deny the hardship request. USPS’s reasoning: • Mail is delivered to the address, not to a specific individual. • If someone at the residence can reasonably get the mail, USPS considers the hardship “covered.” ⸻ ✅ When It May Still Be Approved Approval is more likely if: • The disabled person lives alone, OR • Other residents are not reasonably available (e.g., they work long hours, are frequently away, or are physically unable themselves), AND • A doctor provides documentation explaining why the disabled individual cannot safely access the mailbox. The decision is made by the local Postmaster and can vary slightly by district. ⸻ ⚠️ Important Reality USPS is strict about this.
