I waited over 20 minutes holding certified mail, only to be turned away once I almost reached the counter because it was supposedly “too much work.” That’s not a policy, that’s laziness dressed up as customer service. The manager’s behavior was especially impressive in the worst way imaginable: dismissive, condescending, and clearly inconvenienced by the idea of doing the job they’re paid to do. “Short staffed” is not a get-out-of-work card, nor is it an excuse to waste customers’ time and then refuse service. If this location can’t handle basic postal tasks, that’s a leadership failure… full stop. Either hire competent staff, properly train the employees you have, or stop pretending this place functions as a public service. Customers shouldn’t have to gamble their time just to be told “no” after standing in line. Do yourself a favor and skip this embarrassment of a post office entirely. Drive a few extra minutes to the Post Office off Aviation near LAX; night and day difference. The staff there are efficient, professional, and shockingly capable of completing transactions without acting like it’s a personal burden.
