I visited the Post Office in Carmichael to send a package to family, and the process was easy and comfortable. The staff member greeted customers warmly and helped everyone move through the line efficiently. My shipment was processed quickly, and I left confident that everything was handled correctly.

WARNING! LOCAL BUSINESSES BEWARE!! I am so disappointed in this location. I run an Ebay business. I just moved to Carmichael. I lived 15 minutes away in Foothill Farms, at my last house for 14 years. During that time, my 3-4 normal mail carriers would happily pick up my packages every day, 6 days a week. All of those packages were scanned on pickup and delivered as they should. I loved that local post office. I have now used the Carmichael post office for 1 week now for my package pickups. I went into the branch and introduced myself as new in town, I have talked to 3 different mail carriers which all seem nice and let them all know about my ebay business and how I would be doing package pickups. They all seemed on board. One even created a "Hot Ticket" for me that was supposed to help with the process. In the last week, I now have 6 unscanned packages and 7 late scanned packages! That's more than I ever had in 14 years at my last house. I have talked with 2 different supervisors at this location. One seemed like she would do her best about the package process and the other told me he would just speak to the regular carrier to help, but that it's up to the individuals to do their job and there isn't much he could do about it if they aren't scanning the packages, especially the fill in carriers. He said that he could repremand people if needed, but that it doesn't do much good because it's a government business and it's hard to get people in trouble for not doing their job. I have a note in my mailbox and a note on my package box, asking for the packages to be scanned at pickup. Their official package pickup notices given to them in the morning even state to scan all packages at pickup. That means not only are they not being scanned at pickup, they are also not properly scanning when they get back to the branch. I'm so disappointed because in less than a week of moving here, with multiple conversations being had, my Ebay business is now being affected and I am forced to drop my packages off every day, instead of relying on my local post office to do their job properly. I am not upset at any individual, I am disappointed that there appears to be a systemic issue with the whole location, which I never had at the Foothill Farms location. I have asked to speak to the Post Master, but always get passed to supervisors instead.

This morning I stopped at the Post Office in Carmichael before work. The lobby had that familiar quiet buzz of people handling small errands—packages, letters, passports. The clerk greeted each person calmly and helped everyone move along. My own shipment took only a few minutes, and the entire experience felt simple, steady, and well organized.

I have a package to pick up because it requires a signature. Online hours for pickup say 8:30. The wooden door to the left of the self-serve kiosk has a doorbell and a sign that says "ring bell for service." It was 9 am. I press the button and heard only the bunch of people behind the door sorting or whatever. I was patient. I pressed again. I never heard the bell, so I knocked. Said "hello?" Waited a good 15 minutes. I KNOW there are people who heard me, because I can hear them! I had to leave as I was now late for work. This is for a package that I have waited over a month for, because the first time they tried to deliver it, they sent it back within 24 hours, without holding it for me, because the delivery person wrote the wrong date on the tag. It took 3 weeks to get back to the shipper. But seriously, why have hours on a website if you do not honor them? I am VERY frustrated!
