Everyone knows how horrible the postal service has become in this country. I had to visit it twice, 10 days before Christmas because my mail carrier said there was a package there for me which was beyond her limitations to lift onto her truck (she's maybe in her mid 20s but I dont think I've ever encountered a postal worker that doesn't have an open Workers Comp case) and not co Workers would help her load it. I was told to just give my address. The person that assisted me was rude and abrupt and said I needed a tracking number. I told her what I was told and she told me to call Consumer Affairs! I asked for a supervisor and she was just as useless. The following day the mail carrier left the brown slip of paper for when there is something to pick up so 2 Saturdays before Christmas I'm back at the post office and no package. The supervisor said she checked the bin number on the tracking list and the tracking number I was provided didn't even exist. And again, 2 Saturdays before Christmas there was one clerk working. At one point (I counted) there were 21 people in line and for some reason in between each customer (even though there were bins for the postal workers right there at their station) he had to go into the back for 2 minutes (I timed him). Look at the pictures I've attached to show I'm not making this up. We need a replacement for the USPS. And i worked 20 years in a Unionized public sector environment and public sector employees can be terminated IF the managers and HR are doing their jobs, which they clearly are not doing based on my recent and past experiences with the postal service. A couple years ago my postal carrier (i just happened to be outside so I witnessed it) was kicking one of my packages up my driveway and when I told her to please not do that and that i knew I was receiving several packages that day (it was also the holiday season) so I was outside to help her, her response was "I wish you landlord would raise your rent so you get less packages". I went above the supervisor at the Antioch post office (which is the hub for everyone in east Contra. Costa County, almost 300,000 households) to report this and he tried to give me the excuse about how hard it is to discipline public sector until i told him that was my job so i knew that wasnt true. There is bad customer service and then there is completely unacceptable customer service and we are at the point that we need a new system.

I would like to rate zero star if it has. We felt like the associate who help us was discriminating us because we are Chinese. Her name is Diedre, we were applying passport for my nephew and I am the aunt, I brought all my brother’s documents and notary from San Francisco to meet my nephew’s mom at that usps. And we had appt at 11 am. We handed all the documents to her but we forgot to make the copy for the expired passport and the birth certificate, she told us that she will charged for the copy fee and we were willing to pay for it. During the review of the documents, I asked couple questions to clarify that the original document sending to the department of United States will return to us, she felt like we gave her extra work and gave us the attitude, we felt so uncomfortable about that we were discriminated. Lastly, she asked the mom if that her address on the application, the mom looked at me and confirmed with me. Because the son is living with the dad but not with the mom, and she threatened us she will file a suspicion report about that issue. We are doing the right thing, we don’t worried about anything since we provided all documents. She can do what she want. With today’s experience, I never feel that bad with usps workers except her, every time I go to usps, everyone was nice and answered all my questions clearly. She needs more training to learn what customer service is. Diedre she needs more training to learn the customer service skills, she works there really hate her job and didn’t want to do anything. Expect the customer read all the information in the passport Application, and expect customer understand the whole process about how to apply the passport. She asked me: did you read the application instructions? I answered: yes, but I want to clarify so questions that I have. Then she started make it difficulty for us and threatened us to file a suspicion report to apply a passport, of course, we had no secret to hide and she can do what she wants and she doesn’t need to let us know purposely at the last minute that she took our documents.
