  “I have never experienced this issue before when moving in or out of a place. Recently, after moving to my new address, I have not been receiving any mail. I have visited this location three times and explained my mailing problem, but no one has been able to assist or identify the issue. Updating or correcting my address should be a straightforward process

  I recently moved to Alameda and have found myself at the USPS Shore Center location more times than I expected. I’ll admit—I usually prepare for a long wait and a test of patience when dealing with government offices. Instead, I’ve been genuinely impressed. Every visit has been smooth and efficient. The line moves quickly, and the staff are consistently courteous, attentive, and helpful. Questions are answered clearly, packages handled with care, and the overall vibe is surprisingly upbeat. I actually don’t mind going to the post office now—which is not something I ever thought I’d say. I’m sorry to hear that not everyone has had the same experience, but from what I’ve seen, this team is doing a solid job. If you caught someone on an off day, it might be worth giving them another try.

  The passport walk-in hours listed on the USPS web page are incorrect. We arrived at 7:30am on Saturday but nobody showed up until after 8am, by which time there was a huge crowd of people. To make matters worse, people had been lining up at multiple entrances to the post office, so there was no well-defined queue. We were among the first to arrive, but it still took 1.5 hours to get to the front of the line and file our application. Also note that they do not offer photos. To their credit, the lady who eventually helped us was friendly and kind. I would strongly recommend booking a passport appointment at Alameda City Hall instead, if that's an option (no walk-in hours there). 3/7/2026 - Submitted passport application at post office, paid for expedited service 3/12 - Application received by Dept of State 3/14 - Got email saying application was received on 3/12 3/16 - Passport was shipped from Tucson AZ 3/17 - Got email saying application was approved 3/17 - Website says passport was shipped 3/18 - Received passport via Priority Mail 3/21 - Received passport card 3/23 - Received returned supporting documents Notes: * 11 days door-to-door * email updates seem to be delayed by 1-2 days * slowest part is the period from application submission at usps to its intake at Department of State

  This is the best post office in town. I use their services for over ten years and enjoy seeing the staff.

  Understaffed. Will have to wait ages sometimes. If u can print your mailing slip at home do it!
