Simi Sidhu, Pirjo Male, Jamie Groenheyde and Sarah Morgan have been great throughout my time with OfficeTeam whether it be giving advice or support on an assignment. You can count on them! As a new immigrant to Canada, I was contacted via LinkedIn before landing and interviewed by Sarah Morgan during my first week in Canada in 2019. She then directed me to the OfficeTeam branch in Surrey. I met with Jamie Groenheyde and another gentleman who was a VP with RH. She gave me further information on OfficeTeam and the nature of temp assignments and the possible paths my career could take as I progress along my chosen field. A month later, I was placed with a client. My first assignment didn't go as well as I hoped but RH was constantly checking in with me to make sure I was comfortable in my new role. I was carefully guided into understanding what employers can and can't expect from candidates and soon after my assignment ended. RH quickly inquired and apologized for any misunderstandings that may have occurred on behalf of the client. My second assignment went very well, thanks to Simi Sidhu and Pirjo Male. I worked on an assignment for 9 months with a well known company and an amazing team which certainly helped me build my experience and gain some valuable references in a country I was new to. It also lead to my first stint as a permanent employee with a company based out of Downtown. Unfortunately, the onset of COVID-19 soon had us working from home, part time and eventually laid off. During this time, I was approached by Jamie Groenheyde who quickly signed me up for OfficeTeam once again. Simi Sidhu and Pirjo Male found me an awesome assignment that matched with my constraints as well. After 3 weeks with the most awesome team I've possibly ever worked with, I was offered a permanent role with them. The client is one of the biggest employment brands in Western Canada and one of the best employers to work for. All this, during a critical time when the economy is still recovering from a Pandemic and while being relatively new to Canada. OfficeTeam and RH is definitely the way to go!
