  Had one of the oddest customer service interactions I’ve had in a while. Was returning an Amazon and the woman decided to tape a box in the middle of our interaction. This didn’t bother me until it was taking so long that it felt almost intentional and confrontational. I said I was ready when she was. She didn’t answer and I wasn’t sure if she heard so I said it again. I ended my transaction and after I had taken multiple steps towards the exit she said “have a little patience.” At this point I hadn’t said anything but it was clear she was looking for confrontation and we started arguing in the middle of the store and she said “I don’t get paid for this.” At this point another employee came over and I was just looking for someone to acknowledge how unprofessional the entire interaction was (she was literally fighting me so the whole store could hear) so I could move on with my day and he just escalated things by telling me I was overreacting. I’m honestly more shocked than anything. Looking at recent reviews, it seems this is a theme at this location

  Don’t go to Tempe Staples if you have Amazon. Return! This is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had at a staples. Moved from Anthem to Tempe and need to return Amazon items from time to time. Hershley is the man’s name and he told me I wasn’t a real customer & he needed to help real ones. When I said I didn’t appreciate the way he was speaking to me, he told me to get out of the store. I said no I need to return these items. He continued to toss it all hard onto the floor. Now I am being told from Amazon that they did not receive one of my items I returned and I don’t get a refund. This is not my first time having a bad experience with this man.

  I was confused why I couldn’t exit out one of the doors, after realizing it said it wasn’t an exit, I also realized that if there was a fire, I would have grounds to sue because I wouldn’t have an immediate form of exiting the building. Perhaps it’s to make it easier to exit out of a door that I choose instead of having to be forced to go a certain way, I don’t have that issue when entering the store, I can enter through either of the doors. I don’t care if it’s for security or shoplifting, dispose of safety hazard, and should be addressed immediately.
