Operational Issues
Numerous complaints highlight operational inefficiencies, including long wait times, limited hours for general delivery, and the refusal to accept packages from UPS and FedEx, leading to frustration among customers.
Facility Condition
The post office building is described as dirty and cramped, with inadequate facilities to handle the seasonal influx of customers, particularly during the winter months.
Management and Staffing
Many reviews indicate that the post office is understaffed, especially during peak seasons, which exacerbates service issues and leads to customer dissatisfaction.

Reuben the guy who works the counter is beyond unprofessional and rude. He refused to allow me to drop off pre paid packages yet again despite them being all ready to ship with the postage paid. I go in to drop off parcels and he tells me they have a rule that I can only drop off 7 packages per day. Im a local business, we had 26 packages that day to drop off. So by his logic it would have taken us going in everyday for 4 days just to send out the parcels we had to ship. He's making it IMPOSSIBLE for us to even function as a business in Quartzite. We ended up having to drive all the way to Parker just to drop off our packages because he refuses to do is job and is frankly NASTY and RUDE. How these people haven't been fired shows just how much we need MASSIVE reform in our Post office as they have done with other Government offices.

If I could, I would say zero stars for this PO. They cost me $30+ wasted postage for mailing to a General Delivery address at this PO, for a relative who lives in Quartzsite. This, bc the Post Office doesn't have PO boxes available for residents without street addresses. A city that doesn't have street addresses for residents, & the PO doesn't even blink. The USPS is supposed to deliver mail to residents living in a municipality. The Postmaster is living in his own personal power trip by returning mail intended for residents of Quartzsite, simply bc he doesn't like how it is addressed. However, I will be addressing any future mail to a different address, & Mr. Postmaster will have to deliver it. Also, this PO has General Delivery pickup only from noon till 4PM, bc they have to carve out one employee's work schedule so they can do that counter work for 4 hrs. The tragedy! I'm sure they must have a back-breaking workload. Maybe the Postmaster will work with the City Council to get assigned street addresses for the residents, but that would make more work for everybody, never mind that they are govt employees who serve the public interest. They only serve themselves.

There is no home delivery here, so getting my mail already feels like jumping through hoops. On top of that being at the annex makes it a pain getting packages as they seldomly use the outside box lockers., I often receive other people’s mail or yellow slips in my PO box, which makes me wonder—are they getting mine? Because I’m definitely not getting it.
This has been going on for 5 years. Each time I go in, I wait in line and explain the problem to Ruben. And somehow, like magic, the very next day my mailbox is suddenly full.
Ruben clearly tries to help and does what he can, but I honestly don’t know how he manages to soar like an eagle while working with 🦃.

Nothing screams privatise more than this situation. You have a profit center with a unique seasonal business bonanza like Christmas only twice as long. Instead of managing the payroll, services, and facilities to meet the demand or even capitalize on the opportunity, every effort seems to go into minimizing the existence of it. USPS could probably make a killing with a room full of copy/fax machines instead you have folks lined up in front of 1950's vintage split door in a 10x10 space void of any plus sales opportunities and one poor person handling general delivery pick ups a fist full at a time. Hmm.. why is the USPS broke year over year asked the hot dog vendor on the busiest street corner. Megan Brennan, you have failed miserably to manage and motivate a great resource. General Delivery was a big part of your organisations roots. Perhaps you should embrace it again as a better part of your future. Walmart and Amazon both are scrambling to get Pick Up services in place and you sit and squelch those assets.
