My experience at UPS Store #5640 was appalling, and the primary reason was the owner’s behavior toward me as a customer. From the moment I attempted to resolve a simple transaction, the owner was condescending, and openly disrespectful. Rather than listening or offering any attempt at customer service, he spoke to me in a tone that was rude and belittling, as if my business and time were an inconvenience. At no point did he demonstrate professionalism, empathy, or even basic courtesy—qualities that should be non-negotiable for someone representing a national brand. What made this interaction especially unacceptable is that this was not a misunderstanding or a bad day—it was a deliberate choice to treat a paying customer poorly. As the owner, he sets the standard for the store, and his conduct reflects extremely poorly on the UPS Store brand as a whole. If this is how customers are treated when dealing directly with ownership, it raises serious concerns about training, accountability, and customer-first values at this location. UPS is a company known for reliability and professionalism. Unfortunately, UPS Store #5640 falls far short of those standards. Corporate leadership should be aware that this location’s ownership is actively damaging the brand through disrespectful and unprofessional customer interactions. I strongly recommend that corporate review this location’s management practices. Customers deserve far better than what I experienced here.

The owner at this UPS store is extremely rude. During one of my previous visits he wasn’t very nice to me, either, but I had no idea that he actually owned the store itself. It all makes sense now as to why their google reviews are so low. I’ve never thought that customers are always right, but this guy seems to operate under the assumption that customers are always wrong. Never going to this location again.

I’ve never had any issue using the Self help kiosk at Any other location in the valley. This is the only location that I constantly have the same issue with the same employees. I have not gotten her name, but there is nowhere in the UPS website. Stated that packages need to be a certain size to be able to use the self-help kiosk, and she always sternly yelled at me saying that I cannot use it. If it’s a big box that I need to only use it for smaller items. Like I said, I’ve never had any other employee blatantly lie about The qualifications to be able to use the self-help kiosk. If she really doesn’t like us using the kiosk, then maybe you guys should remove it from your store or retrain her about what the qualifications are to use it or maybe put up a sign, so that people know not to use it for certain size of the packages. But I read through your website and there’s nothing that states that a package needs to Be a specific size to be able to use the self-help kiosk, and every other location. I scan my boxes and I drop them off on the counter by the cash register with no issues. I will definitely be using other locations, and I will no longer be back at my local Laveen location I’d rather drive 30 minutes away to another one.

My sons, ages 10, 11, and 14, have successfully operated a small online business for the past 4 years, shipping between 800 and 1,200 packages annually. Until this holiday season, they exclusively used USPS without issue. This season, they elected to use UPS as an additional carrier. When dropping off their already-labeled packages, requiring no transaction other than handing them over, they were informed that they could no longer do so without an adult present. The explanation given was that “a parent previously became upset about something their child did while shipping, and therefore children are no longer allowed to drop off packages alone.” This policy is discriminatory based solely on age and is unreasonable given the circumstances. My sons independently list products, package orders, communicate with customers, manage inventory, purchase supplies, maintain and pay a business credit card, and file taxes. Yet they are being told they are incapable of dropping off prepaid, labeled packages at a front counter. It is also worth noting that FedEx and USPS have never had an issue with them independently dropping off their packages. If UPS does not wish to accept their business, that should be stated plainly rather than enforcing an arbitrary and exclusionary policy.

Incompetence at its finest. The young man needs help with basic UPS Store knowledge. He just did not care and was a cog. Last time here. No need to reach out, I see plainly how you hire.
