Today the word was they are short staffed, because of a death and someone quitting, which is truly unfortunate. However, they have been rude to me previously when they have had adequate staffing. I waited in line 45 minutes to pick up a package. Then the lady got upset with me because she couldn’t read the pink slip which was written out by one of their own staff, not me! She was acting as though it is my fault that the writing was sloppy! Anyhow, I repeated my address number. Then she came back a second time and yelled at me that she can’t read the road name. So I figured I would repeat the whole address but then she got REALLY upset and yelled at me again that she was asking only for the road name and walked off. While I was waiting I told the people in line with me that this is a frequent occurrence and that the employees always blame me when they can’t find my package. I explained that if I had treated people this way in my own professional life, I would be on the chopping block. Then another employee came up to the counter with a package that had the correct street number, but wrong name and wrong road, and I told him that’s not mine, my address and name are “____”. He then retrieved the correct package but told me to leave and then said that I am “trespassing”. I tried to speak to explain what is going on, but he kept talking over me, repeating that I am trespassing and then shut the window in my face. I do not understand how this is not federal misconduct, and a serious crime. The people at this post office are totally unhinged. The whole place needs to get audited or shut down. Someone in the federal government needs to get involved.
Also this is not the first time that they only look at the street number and neglect to match the road and name, thereby handing me someone else’s package. I also have gotten neighbors’ packages on numerous occasions in the cluster boxes. At what point is the negligence criminal?

I just returned home from the Hereford US Post Office. The lack of customer service at this post office never seems to get any better! After standing in line with six other people ahead of me, and two behind me, the very rude postal clerk (who is consistently rude every time I've been there), announced that "if you are here to pick up a package and the date on your package slip is after August 29, your package is not ready for pickup". That being the case most everyone present, left the post office without receiving their package. In my case, a package slip was left in my mailbox on Friday, August 29, indicating I could pickup the package on August 30. Today is Tuesday, September 2 and I'm told the package is unavailable for pickup! Then why did the package slip indicate the package was available for pickup on August 30?!!! This isn't the first time I've driven all the way to the post office to pick up a package, and left empty handed. Several other times I've been told by the rude postal clerk that she couldn't find the package and that I'd have to come back for the package another day! This lack of customer service is totally unacceptable, and if I were the local postmaster, I would be most embarrassed to know this is happening!

There is something seriously wrong with a postoffice that takes 4 visits to pick up a package. Never got a pink slip notification that there was a package. Was told no package until the Dallas office called in a tracking inquiry and suddenly the package was found behind another package on a shelf. Not a small box either. There needs to be some reorganization. The guy I talked to said any complaint would go to him so he was going to have a discussion about it. Really? This is a beautiful postoffice. It needs new methods and people who can do the job. I don't live in this area. I was told you can get mail out ok but deliveries are a problem and that employee attitudes are poor. I hope they get some help to become more efficient

Bunch of Bigots!! I just found out my father was told by an old lady there that he could not change his mailing address to his new home until he showed prof (paperwork) that he owned his home! My father is Native American and a very kind man and went back home and did what she said. This is very wrong! The problem is that this post office has had so many concerns and complaints that the government, postal staff and Doug the Post Master, flat out DON'T CARE! What a shame were living in 2021 and there is still racial mistreatment because of the color of your skin! I would not give this place one star, but it's one way to expose Bigots!
