I have been a loyal customer of The UPS Store #4470 in Cave Creek for about four years, but my experience on December 17, 2025 was completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about the owner’s conduct. I called ahead to confirm that an oversized return package could be accepted and was explicitly told it would. When we arrived, a padlocked door, never mentioned during the call, made the shipment impossible. Conflicting explanations about the padlock, including one from a staff member, make me question whether it was truly a legitimate operational limitation or an excuse to avoid handling large packages. I truly believe based on her behavior they limit their returns, in fact one of their employees recently told me she wants to stop taking Amazon.
The owner escalated the situation shockingly quickly without merit and even when I asked her why her behavior was so outrageous. She continued to become more and more escalated, and in fact created a bigger scene in the store. Again, the owner refused to discuss alternatives, ordered us to leave while we were still handling the package, and physically touched and shoved the box into me. No matter the circumstances, a business owner should never physically touch a customer or shove anything at them. My son even told her to stop pushing the box at my mom.
I have read multiple reviews describing this owner as a “hot head,” and my experience confirms this is a pattern of unprofessional and intimidating behavior, not an isolated incident. Misrepresentation of services, refusal to mitigate, verbal escalation, and unwanted physical contact should never happen, particularly from someone who owns multiple locations. I hope UPS corporate addresses this serious issue, as it directly impacts customer safety and trust.
