For almost a month, the Opelika office worker/recruiter Kiera has been negligent, dismissive, rude, unprofessional, no follow-up when she stated so, absence from office quite often, lack of communication skills, simple tasks required not done, etc.
From the very first day, I arrived shortly after office opened I knocked on a locked door with note on door. A young lady came out(now known as Kiera), got into a vehicle and left the premises. A man came, said he was told to be there at 10am by the girl working. Another young man walked up to see the door locked, also said he was told to come in. Both men left confused as to why they were told to come in and no one was there. I left came back hours later to an empty office.
I spoke with Kiera the day after about bringing in my ID and social security card. She said that's fine, Monday would be fine since she never came back the day I was there. On the following Monday, no one answered the Opelika number as I sat in front of the door. I called the Columbus, Georgia division as I've now done many, many times because of no answer or communication with Opelika office worker. Columbus called in to Opelika and the young lady opened the door, received my documents, scanned them and said everything was good.
The shenanigans began I had to contact Columbus office for various situations only to be told that I wasn't eligible to work in the United States!!! Also skillsets were not added, background checks had not been done for various jobs as Kiera should have done and said she was sending for me to start(I know Columbus office sent one, maybe the other also to be completed), follow-up situations by Kiera were never done, etc.
Basic job such as dishwasher has taken an extra step every day to get approved for instead of doing it all at once.
Upon calling the Columbus, Georgia office for a follow-up again on matters of obtaining a job, the first thing said was Kiera said she called me that morning and my voicemail was full. The only unrecognizable number was detected as a possible spam call. The Opelika worker did not text message, email or attempt to call back!!! I called the number several times with no answer and a strange voicemail as if it were a scam. I called the Columbus office, was put on hold while they called Kiera who told them she was going to call me right then. I was sitting in front of the Opelika office waiting on the call from Kiera for a while before I called the number many times believed to be hers(not the business office number). I received a voicemail with 40 seconds of complete silence. If she said anything it was muted because no sound was coming through the voicemail on my end. Upon several attempts, we made connections with scrambled, low tones in the background that didn't come through as words clearly spoken by Kiera. I repeated that I couldn't hear or understand any said to please email or text.
Why didn't Kiera simply leave a message with the Columbus office as to what she called me from a number I didn't recognize, text me or email?!?
There's been so much more in this tedious, draining back-and-forth process. Why would the worker say come into the office only to not be there or not open the door? Why would I be told I'll go in a do this or that on my profile/account to not be done? Why would I be told to go in to accept jobs when I can't before someone at the Opelika office has to do a simple procedure first? Why am I told I would get a follow-up or something straightened to not be done?
It's been a rough near month in the hiring process with PeopleReady's Opelika, Alabama office. I understand no job is guaranteed yet to say the Opelika worker is hindering the process for unknown reasons is quite telling.
