- SSScottMar 10, 20263.03 stars because I’m sure the workers are trying with what they have, but this is 2026. No way should the entire town of Bethel be descending upon the post office everyday. I’ve now been through a winter up here and home delivery is absolutely possible within Bethel. There’s tons of money flowing through the community from federal and state levels, place a large lockable, metal robust mailbox (enough to hold a large package) in front of each house just off the road. Chain up a 4x4 special truck load it up and deliver. Anything super big can stay to be picked up. You just can’t keep running things like it’s a community of 50 people. It’s untenable. Same goes for other things like water, build a quality treatment plant and filter and treat river water to make the water actually safe and drinkable.
