1/22/2026 I visited the USPS to complete a passport application. When we arrived, we filled out the forms and followed all the instructions provided. After that, we stood in the mail‑clerk line, since one of the clerks was helping another customer with a passport photo. When it was my turn, the clerk, Macristina, told me I needed to wait in the passport line, and that walk‑ins are only available on Thursdays. What bothered me was that she had just stepped out from the clerk side to take a passport photo for the customer before us but then returned to the mail clerk after helping him. It felt inconsistent and came across as favoritism. I value good customer service, and I don’t like seeing situations where some customers are helped while others are told to wait or follow different rules. I hope the process can be fairer and more consistent for everyone in the future.
