- EWEthan WatrousAug 13, 20243.0Had a cold earlier in the week (all symptoms gone now) and as such wanted to be courteous and let them know during my pre-treatment questionnaire. The questionnaire groups “cold, flu, or fever” into one and because of this, in order to tell them I had a stuffed up nose earlier in the week (yes, that’s all I had) I had to click that option. Fast forward two hours to the start time of my couples massage (it was actually 5 minutes after it was supposed to start) and the therapist comes out to get me holding a mask and asks if I would be comfortable wearing it. Seeing this as a reasonable request I reply “absolutely, no problem”. She then goes back to discuss further with my partners therapist. 5 more minutes later I’m greeted by the spa manager who informs me that they are refusing service. I explain that we were just trying to be extra cautious and that we are asymptomatic, and furthermore, that a member of my family who has actively been sick was able to receive treatment just fine earlier in the day, at which point she tells me it doesn’t matter. I waited 2 hours after my questionnaire to be told (after the time when my massage was supposed to start) that they are cancelling, again, after I agreed to mask up for the entirety of it. Entire day upended and no opportunity for reschedule. Incredibly poor service, communication, and initial resolution. Luckily hotel managers were super understanding and helpful in creating an eventual resolution
