Have been to Escapade Salon & Boutique many times now for a mens haircut. Ivy does a geat job with every cut. Others at the salon are always pleasant and greet me with a smile.

Loved that you can book online and get a same day appointment. Cute little salon with a boutique attached. Sarah gave me one of the best haircuts I have ever had, she gave me exactly what I was asking for. Many compliments on my new look. I am so thankful I found this salon. Thank you!

I was really excited to try this salon since I’m new to the area and it’s conveniently located nearby. I booked a partial highlight service and noted in my appointment that I was looking for halo peekaboo highlights—just a little lighter than my natural color, nothing dramatic. During the consultation, I showed the stylist an inspiration board and explained that while the photo showed very white highlights, that wasn’t the color I wanted. I clarified that I was only looking to go a bit lighter and mentioned that in the past my highlights have always been done with 20 or 30 volume developer and typically without toner, which has given me the kind of subtle lift I was hoping for. The stylist told me she wouldn’t be able to do the service that day because it would be a double process and could take 3–4 hours. I completely understood that scheduling sometimes doesn’t allow for a longer service, so not doing it that day wasn’t an issue for me. What left me confused was understanding why the process needed to be so extensive for the result I described. When I asked what a double process meant and why the hair couldn’t simply be painted and foiled, she said it would require “platinum carding.” The word “platinum” caught me off guard since I had already explained I wasn’t looking to go that light. Each time I tried to ask what that process involved, the explanation mostly focused on how time-consuming it would be rather than clarifying what would actually be done to my hair. Eventually I had to say directly that I understand bleaching can take time, but I was trying to understand the process itself and what she planned to do with my hair. Even after that, I still left feeling unclear about what service was being recommended or why it required such an intensive approach. After I left, I messaged my longtime stylist in another state to ask if this sounded typical for what I was requesting. She was also a bit perplexed and said that a highlight service would normally achieve the look I described. The staff were polite, but I left feeling more confused than confident after the consultation. As someone new to the area and hoping to find a salon to return to, I was really hoping for clearer communication about the process and options.
