  I can honestly say that the experience I had at about 3pm on 6/11 was probably one of the more disappointing experiences I had at any Aveda store ever. I came in to redeem a birthday certificate and while there were no other customers and four ladies behind the counter, I was greeted with a question more akin to "what are you doing here?" rather than "how can I help you?" I mentioned the birthday certificate, which was for a "sensory journey and a complimentary bottle of oil." My "journey" consisted of being asked to choose between four bottles and upon doing so, was handed a bottle and a small card that told me how to use it and was promptly dismissed. It took all of less than two minutes in the store, and I truly felt as though I wasn't wanted anymore. I haven't had a negative experience like that at any point before so to feel so dismissed without even a "happy birthday" or even any attempt at telling about new products or how to use the gift I had been given felt like a matter of "here's your gift, now go away." I will continue to shop there, as I know the store is usually not like that, but for being offered to "celebrate" my birthday with a product I love, I was disappointed.
