- KKKatieFeb 1, 20261.0I came in just for a shampoo as a little treat/pick me up. The lady (older, dark hair in a claw clip with neon pink nails) complained about my hair the entire time. She was grimacing the entire time she brushed my hair. I could see her in the mirror while she made comments like “wow your hair is so thick” “this will take a while to get thru” “oh my gosh” “I can’t look” “as a hairdresser this is horrifying”. ANY decent hairdresser knows you need to get the hair partially dry before you brush it otherwise you are just causing damage damage damage. I even tried to drop a hint like “oh I dry my hair some first or let it air dry before brushing it all the way thru”. She did not put a cape on me and took away the wet towel after the wash so I left with a fully soaked shirt all the way down to my skin in winter. I had to go home after to get my hair into a decent looking state and change my outfit. She hadn’t even attempted to part my hair so it was a hot mess. She leaned a good portion of her body weight on my shoulder as she was sitting in the chair behind me brushing the hair and even used my shoulder to rest the brush at some points. My hair was soaking wet as I had told her I usually let it air dry at home (NOT that I wanted to air dry it today) so by the time she was done attempting to comb my hair I just said yes it can air dry and left as my feelings and hair were already hurt at this point. I paid for a service; not a lecture and not to hear complaining from the provider. All this while the hairdresser next to me is discussing his prison sentence. Let me say this - there is a reason this lady works at Great Clips! Will never be back and if you like your hair I advise you to avoid this place at all costs as I am now pulling chunks of hair out after she mangled it after attempting to comb thru fully 100% soaked hair. Once I got home and used QUALITY PRODUCTS and dried my hair a bit (the detangler she attempted to use might as well have been water) my hair combed thru like a dream. AVOID THEM!! Thank god I didn’t let her near me with a pair of shears.

If you would like to request a particular stylist, be sure to say that when you arrive at the salon and finish your check-in. Note that requesting a stylist may increase your estimated wait time.
If I checked in online, do I need to do anything when I arrive at the salon?
