Normally I don’t really make reviews but, today was so uncomfortable I felt I should. I normally shop here but I really don’t enjoy the experience due to the busyness and how slow it can be to just check out. Plus, I usually receive some sort of attitude from a sales associate. Today, I went in because I wanted to exchange an item. The item I wanted, the Josie Maran body butter, comes in a variety of scents, and because I am picky, I was trying to smell the different scents. As I am doing so, immediately, a sales associate asks me if I need help, to which I respond with no. As I continue looking at the body butters and other Josie Maran products,, a woman with black curly hair in a ponytail, and black glasses approaches me and asked if I needed assistance to which I said no. I noticed that she continued to circle me 2-4 more times, making me uncomfortable. The store wasn’t too busy and I noticed that I was one of the few BIPOC customers in the store. It was extremely uncomfortable and set alarm bells off in my head as I have worked in retail and could identify that I was picked out to be watched. I also didn’t have anything that could indicate that I would steal, as I only had a jacket on. This experience was extremely uncomfortable and I almost left and saved my exchange for a different location. I think from now on, I will either try Amazon or the Southcenter location, as I have had very good experiences there.

I've always had a pretty good to great experience shopping here, a lot of the women are so lovely and helpful. So many willing to chat, but I come in one day to look at items before the sephora sale and the store is relatively empty. Some of the women that day were circling me like Hawks and weren't even being subtle about it. One literally came next to me and was "acting" like she was restocking a stand next to me. I've been shopping here for years as a rouge, I felt so blatantly racially profiled it made me rethink my membership and spending my money here. Most of my brands are already at ulta, as soon as the rest go to ulta I'm ceasing spending money here. Never felt so disrespected in a store before.

I scheduled a makeup service with Denise for an everyday makeup look and I left so happy. She was so informative, kind, and talented. I appreciate how she took the time to explain her technique and had such a soft touch. She was incredibly detailed and asked about my preferences or if I would like to change or add anything but honestly she nailed it. I booked the service for makeup along with a color match for foundation as I am 50 and starting to feel like I wanted to elevate my routine. Although I did buy a few items I didn’t feel pushed into making any additional purchases and she gave me a couple of samples to try out on my own before I bought them which I really appreciated. I would return and recommend Denise for a tutorial or to get glammed up for a special occasion or just to help with an everyday look I can do on my own.
