I've been coming to this Great Clips salon in Greenwood for almost 10 years now, even through all the COVID weirdness. The staff has always been courteous and professional and I've had several different stylists over the years. So, I'm a little surprised at the 1-star reviews describing unprofessional behavior - I've never experienced that here. Sure, it can get a bit busy at peak hours, but the online check in system works really well and gives you an estimate of when to show up in person to minimize wait times. Close, convenient and courteous - all you could want for in a salon.

Had a great experience at this location! The hair stylist did a great job cutting my hair (exactly the way I wanted it to look!), and was very friendly. Highly recommend this place!

I typically get seated with Tracy and she always does a great job. I’ve had another gal give me a cut once and it was also a great experience. But yesterday.. I sat with another hairdresser who had never gave me a cut before. Everything was going great until the very end of the experience. She asked how I liked it and I asked if she could take just a smidgen more off the top. She’s groans loudly (obviously annoyed with my one request) and says “after all of that texturing I just did”. Before I could say never mind, she grabs her buzzers and a comb and buzzes the top of my head as fast as she can and then aggressively blows the hot hairdryer very close to my face to remove the hair. I’m not one to ever leave negative reviews. But that made for a very uncomfortable experience and left me never wanting to visit that location again.

The service from the woman who cut my hair today was atrocious. When I first arrived I asked if my hoodie was going to be a problem. Both of the ladies said agreed it would. I said what if I tuck it in. The second stylist said it'll create a hump making it hard to trim as desired. We both concluded that turning out around would work. The stylist who was to trim my hair seemed resistant even to that. I explained to her I get cold easily and that this seemed like a good idea. Reluctantly she seated me and proceeded to say ok we'll put the cape on with buttons in the front (backwards). This didn't make sense but I assumed there was a reason so, ok. I showed her a photo of the standard facial framing i have asked for most of the times i come in, explaining it was slightly imbalanced the last time I got it cut (I did not say where I got it cut and did not mean to imply it was at this salon although she may have inferred it). She slowly and hesitantly, trimmed my hair - combing *many times before committing to trimming the framing. I just assumed she was still working on her skills and didn't make much of it. Although at this point, my hair is falling onto my chest and lap because the cape has been put on backwards for some reason. After completion I asked about, what I felt was, an imbalance. My hair was frizzy, neither wet enough or dry enough to compare, so I asked if she could dry it so it would be more even to compare. She refused to dry it more because "they don't style hair". I said I didn't want it styled just didn't feel it was balanced and wanted her to check it to see if she could fix it. She said it's just the way your hair is and that she parted it down the middle. She refused to do anything further, stating she could not style it and that she is only given so much time with each client and that's why she needed to be done (I had been there maybe 15 minutes). In an effort to contain my frustration I quickly said OK fine and got up dropping and brushing all of my hair off of my chest and lap explaining that I have never had a bad experience with service in this salon until now. She expressed that she felt she did a good job cutting my hair. I told her whether or not the cut was good didn't matter to me, the fact that she refused to try to check what I felt was wrong was terrible service and I was very upset. Looking back i wish I had refused to pay, and the longer I think about it I'm left to consider the fact that her putting the cape on backwards and inability to handle even the slightest adversity or confrontation to check the balance of my framing, either she gets negative feedback a lot or she's a drinker and was not sober at the time.
When I got home I straightened it (it occurred to me she could have just rewet it to accomplish the same thing) and it's not balanced. I wanted to go back and show her now that I've "styled it" to have her see the flaw but I no longer feel comfortable with the service provided at this salon. It's sad because everyone else has always been so pleasant and competent with great service.

It was my first time to Greenwood Great Clips and Irene was friendly, warm, efficient and did a wonderful job with my haircut! Thank you! Then 2 days later I realized I had forgotten to ask her to thin a certain part of my hair and had found I needed my
bangs a bit shorter. I went back and Irene wasn't in but Rebecca very happily took care of me and refused a tip I tried to give her! She just wanted to make sure I was satisfied. What excellent customer service from both technicians--thank you!!
