  I’m not sure why the reviews are all over the map for Sephora in Woodbridge, VA., except that this store sadly employs a gal so wretched, it’s hard to dismiss. Once she goes, this store will be fantastic. I was feeling absolutely awful and had been to hospital. I realize Sephora may not be a person’s first stop after the hospital, but it was mine. I needed some pick-me-up items and was going to have them that day, misery be damned. 😊 There was a gal working that was so rude and unprofessional I wanted to paint her face with sharpies rather than the clown makeup she was sporting. Thankfully, she was spared the sharpie makeover as a lovely woman came to our rescue. I really wish I had the awesome consultant’s name. If you’ve been to this location, you’ll know the snot from the shine. I bought a couple of items and was given an incredible goodie bag. The care she put into the goodie bag was so kind and completely unnecessary to the purchase. She did this just to do it. It’s the extra care that gets me to be the “forever loyal” customer. It doesn’t have to be a goodie bag. Honestly, her professionalism and attitude was so great, the goodie bag was awesome but simply sprinkles atop fabulous customer service. I will update this post with her name as soon as I go back in. I can say this, I will be buying most of my makeup and related items at Sephora. I can’t give up on Nordstrom (another first class group of customer care folks I highly recommend).

  The customer service has really gone down since they opened. There were literally 4 employees standing around talking or on their phone. When I asked for a color match, I was told it would be a 10 minute wait…then she went back to chatting with her co-worker.

  I went to this location for foundation shade match. Marz was very helpful. She was very patient and helped me find right shade.

  I had a frustrating experience at this Sephora location. I placed an online order for pickup and planned to choose a blush in store since I wasn’t sure about the shade. While browsing, no one offered assistance. When I went to check out with the blush and pick up my online order, I tried to use a 20% off blush coupon from my Sephora app. The coupon was advertised directly on the app’s homepage, and the terms stated it was valid for in-store use. The associate asked to see my phone to view the coupon and asked if I had already used it. Despite this, they said it wasn’t valid, it wouldn’t scan, and they couldn’t override it. At this point, there were two employees assisting me, and I was told I should call Sephora customer service to ask why the coupon wasn’t working. Since I was already in the store ready to purchase, that felt unreasonable. I asked if I could simply place an online order for the blush—just like my other pickup order—since the coupon worked online without any issue. That ended up being the only solution. Because of this, I had to place an online order for the exact blush they were already holding and then wait an additional 20 minutes for the order to process before I could leave with it. It’s frustrating to see a coupon clearly advertised in the app and be unable to use it in store, then be directed to customer service instead of being helped at checkout. Overall, the experience felt unnecessarily inconvenient and disappointing.
