  This was my first visit to the salon, and I had the pleasure of having Theo work on my hair. Although he’s only been there for a couple of weeks, his years of experience really show. He’s knowledgeable, kind, and takes the time to explain everything while helping bring your hair goals to life. I highly recommend booking with him, though I may regret saying that when his schedule fills up! Well deserved, though.

  My roommate and I both saw Tiffani - 10/10 experience. She was incredibly kind and went above and beyond by really listening to our thoughts and making our hair look fantastic!!

  Had a great massage from Joy. Excellent at deep bodywork! Highly skilled. Knew right where my body needed help and delivered. Would definitely recommend - already planning to schedule my next appointment.

  I get my facials with Anita. She does a great job of customizing the experience to meet my skin's needs because I have sensitive skin! I always leave glow-y and refreshed :). Today, I tried a 30minute massage with Richard for the first time, and it was the best massage I've gotten! The pressure was perfect and he focused on the exact areas where my muscles needed the most attention. The only complaint I have was that I booked 30 minutes and not 2 hours- LOL. I will definitely be back!

  I’ve now had two separate negative experiences related to textured hair at Bang Salon Reston, and together they raise serious concerns about how the salon handles clients with natural or textured hair. Incident #1 – November 22, 2024 I arrived for a confirmed appointment with stylist Jason P. He seated me in his chair, removed my hair tie, ran his fingers through my hair, and when I began explaining the blowout I wanted, he stopped me mid-sentence and said rudely and sarcasticly: “I don’t do Black hair. I don’t even know how this got booked. You shouldn’t be sitting in my chair right now.” It was humiliating and extremely unprofessional. He then went to get the only Black stylist in the salon, along with the on-site VP Chantel P., and they moved me to the other stylist’s chair. There was no meaningful apology and no follow-up afterward. Chantel is married to the stylist involved, which raises concerns about a conflict of interest in how the situation resolved. Incident #2 – March 2026 Fast forward to today: my daughter arrived for her scheduled appointment and was turned away at the door because the salon said they “didn’t have enough time for textured hair” and she would need to rebook. However, their booking system does not provide an option to indicate textured hair when scheduling. So the system allows appointments to be booked without accounting for this — and then the client is blamed when they show up. That is not a customer mistake. That is a salon management and booking system failure. The stylists themselves may be talented, but the operations and customer handling need serious work. Turning clients away after they arrive for scheduled appointments — especially when the booking system doesn’t allow them to flag hair texture — is unacceptable. For a salon operating in 2026, the lack of clarity around textured hair services is honestly surprising. Bang Salon needs to address: • their booking system • how textured hair appointments are scheduled • how customer complaints are escalated and handled Chantal chalked it up as senior stylists vs younger ones who learn how to do all hair. If management is serious about inclusion and customer service, I hope they take a closer look at these issues.
