I initially spoke with a representative named Ella, who was very friendly, accommodating, and willing to work with my busy schedule as someone balancing a full-time job while attending college to obtain my BSN. She helped me schedule an appointment for March 16, 2026, and I was really looking forward to it, especially since I’m new to the area and it has been quite some time since I’ve had my hair done.
Unfortunately, my stylist, Gabi, had to cancel the appointment due to the weather. While I understand that circumstances like weather can be unavoidable, it was still very disappointing as I had been anticipating this appointment for a while.
Because I was working and my nurse needed me on the floor, I had to call the salon back later. When I returned the call, I spoke with someone who I believe was the same person who informed me of the cancellation (possibly Alice). During that conversation, I felt that the interaction was rude and dismissive. The tone came across as having an attitude, which made me feel that my time and schedule were not being respected.
As someone balancing work and school, my availability is very limited, and I had already made an effort to adjust my schedule — even considering giving up a study day — to make this appointment work. Being told that the lowest-priced stylist for the same service is booked out until mid-April was very discouraging, especially after the original appointment was canceled.
Because of this experience, I ultimately decided that I may need to search for another salon that can better accommodate my schedule and provide a more positive customer service experience. I’m sure the salon produces great work, but unfortunately the service I experienced left me feeling uncomfortable and disappointed.

This salon really took care of me! From the moment I walked in, I was offered a beverage, my coat was taken and everyone was very nice. From the front desk employee to my stylist, I felt comfortable, heard, and I got everything I needed for a fresh new look, and more! It is a close community of stylists and professionals, and you can tell they love their clients, and their clients love them. I especially loved Melissa. She did an amazing job, told me what she recommended and didn't do anything I didn't want to. She was communicative, honest, sweet, personable, and very skilled at her job. I'll be back to see you for sure!!!

If you value your time and good customer service, do not go to this salon. They charge you for late appointment cancellations which is totally fair - it’s lost revenue for them. However, if they are running way behind schedule they don’t seem to recognize the negative impact on the customer.
I have been a client at PR Partners for over 20 years. I recently switched to a stylist at the old town Alexandria location. I made an appointment for the middle of the work day because that is all that was available. I took vacation time to get to this appointment.
I arrived a little early and waited in the reception area. Twenty minutes after my appointment was scheduled to start, I approached the reception desk to ask about the delay. The assistant came to get me. I was seated next to the stylist who was still cutting the previous clients hair. Five minutes later I walked back down to the reception desk. I explained to them that the delay was too long and that I had a meeting that I was afraid I would miss due to the extensive delay. I spent $35 in uber rides to get to and from the appointment only to have to leave because the stylist was so far behind schedule.
I emailed them when I got home expressing my disappointment and asked that they contact me to reschedule. I got no response from the email. The following day I called them and asked to speak to the manager and was told she would call me when she returned to the salon in two days. She never called me back.
I always give a business the opportunity to make things right before I rate them on Yelp. This place couldn’t even return my phone call or my email.
I will not return here. Very disappointing. I hope they learn to improve customer service.

Molly did a great job. She made a point to really understand what I wanted and she delivered. I'm obnoxiously picky and she was great and patiently answered my many questions throughout the process. Would definitely recommend her for your cutting an coloring needs.

Love this place. I used to go see Katie when she worked at another PR in Shirlington, so I was thrilled when she said she was opening up her own franchise. She works hard to keep up the Old Town vibe in there in terms of the decor, and they have great atmosphere in general. Katie and her team also special in bright ‘rainbow’ (unicorn) hair colors.
