Hooshin, if I got her name right the lady with thick black hair and a lovely smile, was incredibly friendly and helpful. I asked for a few samples and an extra paper bag, and she gave them to me with a smile. I absolutely loved her energy!

We normally shop from this store but today we wanted some help from the rep from the store no one is bothered to help. We could see the staff talking in a group but none wanted to help the customers. Wired experience from this outlet unlike other sephoras.

I visited this Sephora location recently and left feeling extremely disheartened and uncomfortable. I do not take accusations of discrimination lightly, but the pattern of my experience made it difficult to ignore. When I entered the store, I was not greeted, despite a greeter standing at the front who acknowledged and greeted other customers. I was also not offered a shopping bag, while I observed others being given one upon entry. I spent several minutes walking the store multiple times trying to locate a specific skin tint, clearly looking around for assistance. No one approached me to offer help. Eventually, I had to return to the front and ask for assistance with a shade match. I was told someone would meet me in the section. When an employee arrived with the color matching device, she made eye contact with me but chose to assist other customers who arrived after me. I stood there waiting, clearly expecting help, but was never acknowledged or assisted by her. At that point, I attempted to shade match myself using testers, which is not ideal as I specifically requested professional assistance. I then approached another employee, Lauren, who was the only person during my visit who provided respectful and helpful service. She apologized, assisted me with a proper shade match, explained her recommendations, and answered my questions thoroughly. I truly appreciate her professionalism. Unfortunately, the negative experience continued at checkout. When I was called to the register, the cashier did not greet me with the same friendliness I observed her give other customers. After confirming my name, she completed the transaction without any warmth or basic courtesy, and pushed my bag toward me without acknowledgment. This was not my first uncomfortable experience at this location, but it was the most apparent. Being ignored, overlooked, and treated differently throughout multiple interactions in the same visit felt deeply unsettling and, frankly, discriminatory. I hope this feedback is taken seriously. Every customer deserves to feel welcomed, acknowledged, and respected in your store.

I went to pick up my mobile order, which included four MAC foundations. At checkout, I had selected two perfume samples, but when I received my bag, it only contained the foundations. I didn’t get to the check out it was on the side near the perfume section. I then asked two different employees if I could receive some samples. Both of them told me that they do not carry or provide samples. This was surprising to me because I’ve shopped at Sephora many times in the past, and it was always common to receive samples for skincare, haircare, or fragrances. It had been over a year since my last visit, as I was in Bolivia, but this experience felt very different from what I was used to. The store was not busy since it was a weekday, and the interaction made me feel uncomfortable, as if my request was unusual. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I don’t plan on returning to this location.

Dear Sephora Corporate, On my way out of the Tysons location today, I unexpectedly walked into what looked like a full leadership summit… stationed directly at the front entrance. The energy was great—lots of smiles, introductions, and what I can only assume was a very productive moment. However, it also felt a bit like I had reached the final level of a video game where the challenge is simply finding a way out. I did eventually make it, but not without being redirected around what can only be described as a very well-dressed human barricade. To be clear, I genuinely enjoy this location and the team is always wonderful. This note is more about leadership visibility and example-setting. If the goal was to demonstrate teamwork—mission accomplished. If the goal was to subtly test emergency exit strategies… also accomplished. All jokes aside, gathering at the front entrance can disrupt customer flow and may not be the best look operationally. Leadership sets the tone, and I know the same awareness expected from store teams can be modeled at every level. Sharing this with respect (and a smile) from a loyal customer who will happily continue shopping—ideally with a clear path to the exit next time. Have a great day!
