I wanted to try this salon for my children. I called on Thursday asking for Saturday appointment for my kids. Made the appointment for 10am. I was told I would receive a call if they were going to close or cancel due to impending weather. I never received a call, message, or voicemail canceling. This morning we drove to the salon, got there at 9:50. They were closed. It’s not snowing yet and wasn’t snowing when we got there. I was very disappointed that I didn’t receive any notice prior to my 20 minute drive. My kids were also very disappointed. Thankfully two other businesses could fit us in today.

I'm friends with the owner here but had never been to her salon; even if I didn't already know her, I would still rate this experience 10 stars if it was available. I found myself in a tight spot because my son is getting married in Michigan in the middle of October. Thinking I would have plenty of time, I figured I would schedule a haircut and a hair color three to four weeks prior so that it would have time to settle down and I could have it tweaked if I wanted. I haven't had a haircut in over two years because I'm a full-time caregiver for my mother and I work full-time, along with a part-time job - hello ponytails and French braids. The gentleman who previously did my hair came here from Atlanta and when I was ready to schedule, I tried to find him, to no avail. He wasn't in the same place he had been, couldn't be located anywhere else, and I assumed he'd returned to Atlanta. I put out a call on Facebook for recommendations and friends suggested a number of stylists, one of whom was him! I was overjoyed and, after that same person told me I could message him on Facebook, I immediately looked him up and sent him a message, explained what was going on, and told him I was in desperate need of muh hairs "did". It was a Sunday and he said he would check his book on Monday and let me know. On Monday he messaged me he didn't have an opening until the second week of October, which I'd already told him was when I would be in Michigan (frankly, I think he thought I had been going to another stylist, was ticked, and wanted to make me wait) I declined, with thanks, and took up a high school friend on the offer she had sent me to come to one of the people at her salon. I told her whatever anyone had available I would make work on my calendar, just to let me know. She messaged me the following morning with an appointment about a week prior to my departure. I asked if she had anything sooner and she messaged me shortly after to schedule me for Tuesday of the following week, which was yesterday, the 24th. I arrived for my 1:30 appointment and one of the ladies there told me to have a seat in one of the chairs and the stylist would be right with me. My friend was there working on another lady and we chatted a little bit while she did. I was very pleased to find that she was going to be my stylist when she completed the person she was working on and turned to me! We talked about suggestions, ideas, what I wanted, what she thought would work, and she got to it. She painstakingly cut my fine hair, making tweaks and adjustments here and there, working my hair with her hands to see how it was going to lay, then got to coloring and highlighting. We discussed how important it is to me to have an easy to maintain cut and because of the time constraints I have. Accordingly, she went with color slightly lighter than my own with very light highlighting throughout to help camouflage my high blond (gray). the result was stupendous! The color looks extremely natural, as do the highlights. The cut itself is a little shorter than I wanted, but since my hair will be up for the wedding it won't really matter, and she said since I tend to go so long between cuts, this will grow out more evenly the my last cut did. I've been to a lot of hairdressers in my life, as most of us have at this age, and we all know who the good and bad ones are - Cheryl is the best, and I could not be more happy with the results! You will be, too!
