They did a great job with my simple cut. Very accommodating, polite and super efficient (but not in a way that felt at all rushed)

This is the worst hair cuttery I’ve ever been to. If it’s the closest one to you just go to the next closest one. Everyone I know that has come here has had their head tore up. They are lazy and do not care what they’re doin to your head. Genuinely do yourself a favor and go to a different hair cuttery. This is the worst place I’ve been to get my hair cut ever period. They’re also very unprofessional when dealing with customers. They will absolutely chop you up and look at you like you’re insane for asking them to please stop and if someone else can fix it. I can’t say enough bad stuff about how careless they are with peoples hair. I know it’s just hair, but what they do should be illegal. This place needs to be shut down or people need to start gettin fired. Again can’t say enough bad things about this place. Don’t do it!

I took my mom in for a trim, wash, and condition. I selected Hirut based on her online bio, which highlighted over 10 years of experience with cutting. Initially, she was pleasant and made my mom feel at ease. The wash and condition were done well, and she suggested adding color. Since my mom had already been considering it, we agreed—bringing the total up with an additional $89 on top of the $32 service. She also mentioned, almost as a courtesy, that she wouldn’t charge to remove my mom’s six two-strand twists. However, she asked my mom to assist, and the entire process took less than five minutes.
There was also an added charge mentioned for a blowout. After the wash and color, she brought my mom back to the chair and cut her hair into a short Afro style, about one inch in length.
After I straightened my mom’s hair later, it was clear the cut was uneven and not aligned with what was expected. For the price and the experience presented, the results didn’t match. Overall, it felt more transactional than intentional, with more focus on add-ons than execution. I would advise others to be mindful before booking.

Today I traveled from downtown DC for my scheduled appointment with Samia. When I arrived I was informed that she was not there today. I was very upset because I was waiting for her to come back after a vacation to cut my hair. I was offered another stylist but I hate changing my hair stylist. I asked to speak to the manager, and it turns out Samia IS the manager. So disappointing and unprofessional.
