I had an incredible experience at Matrix Massage, specifically with Richard. What he provided was so much more than a massage—it was true bodywork. Richard took the time to explain what he was doing, helped guide my breathing throughout the session, and made me feel completely present and supported in my body.
The experience was deeply relaxing, therapeutic, and honestly transformative. I left feeling better aligned, lighter, and more connected to my body than I have in a long time. I only wish I were local, because I would absolutely see Richard on a regular basis. If you’re looking for someone who truly understands the body and delivers an exceptional, intentional experience, I can’t recommend him highly enough.

Terrible customer service and rude … booked a massage in advance called after and before the booking to ensure it was with the Paola , they changed me to someone else when I called back they were rude and unapologetic telling me u can just come in another time. Excuse you but no I have a child and had specifically paid for a babysitter for this time and day. They tried to change the time and provider without even asking me changing to a male. As a body worker myself I would never make the client feel this stressed and uncomfortable. I recommend changing your Groupon description as well as customer care. Telling me to either pay $100 vs $60 or come another day bc you don’t make that much from Groupon or be touched by a male is not ok. These are your business issues not mine and shouldn’t be taken out on a client. Not to mention the person Karelis doesn’t speak any English and massages like she doesn’t have a license to begin with

I get massages regularly and booked here bc of the reviews. I have intense neck/shoulder/back pain due to the gym and my occupation. I had a massage with Richard. The massage itself did release a lot of my pain, which I'm grateful for, but he talked throughout the entire massage, giving guided breathing recommendations. It was distracting and unwanted. I also mentioned that I had broken both of my wrists, in which he continued to stretch them in very straining and uncomfortable positions - I even cried out due to pain during the tension stretches. After that massage, I will not be back. The front desk was helpful, and the choloropyll water was a nice touch, but the overall experience with Richard will prevent me from re-booking.
Frequently Asked Questions About Matrix Spa & Massage
Will I be Covered During the Massage Session?
The law always requires that you be appropriately covered with sheets or towels to keep you comfortable and warm. If you start feeling uncomfortable or exposed, speak up. Your therapist will respect your wishes and work with you to make the massage session a comfortable one.
Must I Get Completely Undressed?
No, only undress as much as you are comfortable with. Some people prefer undressing completely, while others prefer to keep undergarments on. You'll have privacy in your massage room to undress before the session and redress afterwards.
How Often Should I Receive a Massage?
It depends on your massage therapy goals. Some people get a monthly massage to manage stress or to prevent health problems. Others opt for weekly sessions if they need relief from injuries and chronic tension.
What Does a Massage Therapist’s License Mean?
Licensing and certification mean that the massage therapist can legally practice massage in your city or state. To get this license, they must have performed several hours of training at an accredited school, past the extensive licensure exam, and have paid any relevant licensing fees.
How Much Should I Tip My Massage Therapist?
How much depends on how pleased you are with the service and how much the massage costs (the full price, not any discounted fees). One easy trick is to think about how you would tip a waiter after a similarly priced restaurant meal. This is often 15-20% or more if you received exceptional service.
What If I Don’t Want a Massage Therapist to Work on a Certain Part of My Body?
Let your massage therapist know before the session if there are areas on your body that you don't want to be touched. They will have the training and experience to give you a therapeutic massage while working around ticklish or sensitive places like your feet or abdomen.
Is It Okay to Talk During a Massage Session?
Yes, absolutely. You should always speak up if something is uncomfortable. Secondly, keep the lines of communication open during deep tissue massage or sports injury massages. Your therapist needs the feedback to work on you properly and without aggravating an injury. On the other hand, if you are looking for relaxation, it's often best not to talk unless necessary. This lets your mind as well as your body release tension. With the right mindful breathing technique, you may even achieve a stress relieving meditative state during the massage.
Can I get a massage when I'm Pregnant?
Most likely, unless your doctor says otherwise. Prenatal massage can reduce and relieve common pregnancy issues like lower and upper back pain, sciatic nerve irritation, swelling, tension headaches, heartburn and constipation, and more. Let your massage therapist know that you're pregnant so they can use the right techniques during the session.
