It is incredibly sad how far downhill this store has gone - the customer service seems almost non-existent these days. You used to be able to get ahold of the store for a specific product - if they did not have it, they would order it from the warehouse for you. If the warehouse didn't have it, they'd pull it from another store. No matter what, you got what you needed and in a timely manner.
Now, you can't even call the store and get an accurate update on inventory. I called and spoke to Donna today asking about the 1.1 omnipresent R + Co color. She initially told me there was none in stock, that they actually only carried to a level 2. I mentioned I had just ordered some online and that that was true for a different line of theirs, but the omnipresent should still be available. She again told me it wasn't available. I mentioned that I have a hard time finding it on the shelf as it is in a weird location - she was then able to find some per my third request to look a little closer, however, when I got to the store, she had STILL pulled the wrong color. I tried chatting with her about my experiences, and even suggested checking the inventory of said color as it had been out of stock for over two months - if the stock is off, the warehouse doesn't replenish which I have had experiences with in the past. She seemed very uninterested in looking into this even though it (at least used to be) a very easy task to accomplish. Before leaving, due to the lack of care Donna seemed to put into helping customers, I went back to the aisle to check just in case (even though she had assured me three more times at the counter that they were out, the stock was correct, and there was nothing she could do to help me) and found 2 tubes of the color I had been looking for.
This is an absolute failure on the employee's part as well as the store's for the severe lack of training. There are a few people that do a decent job here, but it seems like the majority of the staff has little to no customer service skills, no industry knowledge, and a severe lack of training.
You used to be able to walk in the store and know you would be taken care of. Now you can't even call and trust you'll be given accurate information about inventory.
Used to be one of the best stores in Madison and now I'd say they are comparable to their neighbors they complain so much about.

Called ahead of time to see how color exchanges work for shades I don’t use as much. Was told yes I can exchange what I use for new shades. I specifically asked if I can exchange for new color tubes the same brand. Was told yes I can come in to exchange for the same brand. I drive 1.5 hours to exchange then get told I can’t do that? Super disappointing.

I came here needing some toner to go about fixing my hair I bleached at home myself. I asked the employee ( long brown hair, blue eyes, cashier 686011) some questions about Redken toner and she was not friendly at all and spoke to me with a very rude tone in her voice . I get she was probably annoyed I was shopping here not knowing what I was doing with my hair, but I’m VERY new to the cosmetology industry , so I don’t know everything and I’m still learning. She was more friendly to the lady she’s was checking out, and I felt very unwelcome by her unprofessional presence. The employees at Cosmoprof are more professional and I will be taking my business there for now on.
