  I had a facial with Emma. I loved everything about! The products used where perfect and Emma is absolutely adorable and competent. I came out soooo relaxed, thank you!

  I had a wonderful experience with Kieth as my stylist. I had an emergency hair fix and he listened to everything I wanted and fixed my bangs right up! I had my hair done at home originally by my mom who is more of a color specialist and hasn't done a women hair cut in a year; So you could say it didn’t turn out exactly to my liking. When I met with Keith he did a good job at finding my exact Vision despite me not being a good explainer lol. He also gave me tips on styling and how to kind of brush it out. We settled on a cute “toddler” bang which is just a more alternative style bang; and it mimics a nice lil emo side part which is what I really really wanted! Anyways to wrap it up, Kieth was wonderful despite my obvious hair challenges! Thanks so much -Cole

  I have been to Genesis twice now. Once for a curly cut and now for an all over color. Both times I have walked out so happy and I recommend Isabelle for any coloring needs. She is a student and did such a great job!

  Run, don’t walk, to Genesis Hair Salon & Spa in DeForest! Today I had one of the best haircut experiences I’ve had in a very long time, and I have to give a huge shout-out to Anna at Genesis Hair Salon & Spa! I was a little nervous when I made my appointment. The receptionist mentioned that Anna was new, and I have been searching for a new stylist ever since my longtime stylist, Terri, retired. My hair is thinning and baby fine, and it has also taken quite a beating from hot tools and hard water. Anna was attentive and genuinely listened to what I was trying to achieve. What impressed me was that she would repeat back what I was saying—but use the proper terminology to make sure we were both on the same page. I explained what I didn't like, what I wanted, and the kind of volume and lift I was hoping for. We determined that I was looking for layers, lots of texture, and volume—something with a little bit of a spiky, edgy feel. Anna wasn't just my stylist today; she was my teacher! She educated me about products that would be better for my hair's condition, including what would help with dryness, frizz, and damage. I had also booked a deep-conditioning treatment online. At the shampoo station, Anna suggested two products she thought would be better suited to my hair—Absolute Repair and Metal Detox. Rather than having me spend $30 on one treatment, she offered me two for $45 and explained why she felt I would be happier with those choices. Another thing I loved was that I had originally hoped to have my hair colored today, however, we couldn't fit it in. But we did talk about it! I've mentioned my ideas to other stylists, and for whatever reason, I've repeatedly been steered away from the brown/caramel color I had in mind. Not Anna. At the end of the appointment, I mentioned that I wanted even more lift at the roots. Anna made some additional adjustments and used a point-cutting technique to create even more texture and movement. I was actually watching her closely—and even video-ed a little of the styling process—because I wanted to be able to recreate what she was doing at home. Then the icing on the cake… POMADE! 😂 Finding the right pomade has been a struggle. I've bought products before and never seemed to get the right one. Anna used one in my hair, showed me how to apply it, and explained how to use it to achieve the look I wanted. GAME CHANGER! When I left Genesis today, i loved my cut. My hair isn't quite long enough yet to recreate the longer layered style I ultimately want, but Anna explained that the cut we created today will grow out beautifully and transition into that longer, layered look. That is what I was hoping for. Anna was confident, knowledgeable, attentive, and incredibly personable. She knew her stuff, she listened, she educated me, and she made me feel confident about my hair again. After searching for a stylist for quite some time, I think I may have finally found my new “Anna, just do what you do!” stylist. ❤️ I LOVE my haircut, I loved the experience, and I will absolutely be going back! If you're around DeForest, Wisconsin, and you're looking for a stylist who will actually listen to you, educate you, and help you find a style that works for YOUR hair… RUN, DON'T WALK! Thank you, Anna, for giving me more than just a haircut today. You gave me confidence, some great hair knowledge, and a style I can't wait to play with!
