  I have hair that I thought was a wavy/curly combo. My hair is curlier after each cut. Sophie really listens and then offers suggestions if what I am wanting does not work for the amount of effort I am willing to put into my hair. I am happier

  Sophie is amazing, her technique, planning and thoughtfulness have resulted in the best dimensional blondes I've ever had. She is very talented! Everyone is friendly and I feel very comfortable there as well.

  First, Gillian is amazing and works with the hair I have. She listens and acknowledges that I won’t put a lot of daily time into my hair, so she cuts it in a way that falls well, regardless of if I opt for wavy or straight or in a ponytail. My hair is neither curly nor straight and she helps bring the wave out (I actually first went to her for a perm consult that she showed me I didn’t need), gives me pointers (that I ask for), and never complains about how long it takes to work with my thick hair. She’s also just a lovely human and will put anyone at ease. Second, as a salon, Utopia is clearly doing something right. I sensed it on my first visit with the way everyone treated each other. I’ve been to a number of salons where the independent stylists barely interact, which is fine until experiencing the liveliness of a team that cares about each other and their clients, all while upholding high standards. If someone sees a need, they jump in to help or sweep up hair. You can tell that collaboration and continual learning is intentionally prioritized - I love seeing the stylists confer with each other about someone’s hair. You cannot go wrong seeing anyone here. Truly the best vibes. I genuinely look forward to haircuts now. Major props to the owner and the whole team.

  Y'all, I love this place. My particular (what's the term here? stylist? hair cutter-er? elven hair sorceress?), Katrina, is the bee's knees, the cat's pajamas, and a bag of chips. All hyperbolic metaphors aside, I generally don't like anyone near my face/head with loud stuff, or things that could easily make me bleed. I always feel safe, and come out looking great (just ask my wife), with a minimal amount of direction beyond 'please make me look good' which is amazing. Oh also, I don't know that it's on their menu, but at least Katrina does an awesome beard trim. I look less like a technology loving Amish dude, than i did yesterday, and I'll take it.
