  My first visit to the shop was truly wonderful. I was welcomed so kindly by the manager, Sohela, and received an excellent haircut and color. I’ll definitely be back, and I’ll be recommending this place to others as well. Many thanks.

  Went to the hair cuttery in Sterling, Cascades. Dioni always does a fantastic job! She's so sweet, cuts exactly how I like, and is quick! I have curly hair and she handles it well. Highly recommend her!

  I am going to this Hair Cuttery for a while now after my friend introduced me to Soheyla who is one of the stylists. She is fantastic; I really love the hair cut every single time; not only she is very professional but also she is very nice.

  I had a terrible experience yesterday. First of all I never leave reviews but honestly after being there for 5 hours from 1pm to 6pm for a color, partial highlight, wash and cut and multiple truly horrific events I have to leave something. I don't know my stylist name but she was very inexperienced to the point the stylist next to me had to come over and constantly remind her what to do. When my stylist continued doing what she was doing the other stylist had to frequently and I mean every 15 minutes or so remind her what she needed to be doing. I caught the other in the mirror when my back was turned silently reprimanding my stylist because she was NOT listening. That was throughout the entire 5 hour process. In addition to that my stylist asked not once but FOUR seperate times throughout the appointment if I had children. My answer each time was a polite no. Multiple times she responded that my mother must be disappointed. That I should have kids. It's the right thing to do. Not to shed too my light on my story but my mother abandoned me when I was 15 to start a whole new life and I haven't seen or talked to her in many many years. The years of physical and mental abuse prior to that drove my decision to not have children. When I responded that I do have a dog and enjoy being a fur mama she responded that "that's not really being a mom. Being a mom you have to have kids. I have 4 kids 3 boys and 1 girl. You should really have kids it's not too late". Now I understand there my be some cultural aspects here, HOWEVER we had an aspect of this concersation on FOUR separate occasions. Now remember I was there for 4 hours I was told to get up go to the chair then get up to go to the hairwash station then back to the chair and so on and so ob. Everytime she asked if I had kids it was like we never had the previous conversation. Her responses the same each time. "You should have kids. Your mom must be really disappointed you don't have kids". Sure once, fine, it's a cultural thing but to have to hear her thoughts about my choice not to have kids and her continually put me down and feel like how I live my life is wrong left me emotionally scared. I didn't argue with her. I just took it. When I go to get my hair done it's a way to treat myself to self care. I am an ICU nurse and take care and help others for a living. I don't go to get my hair done to be there for FIVE hours being judged, wondering if my hair is going to come out some crazy color because this woman has NO IDEA what is going on, and almost disassociating myself from the situation to cope. A lot of these discussions took place over at the hair wash station where she and I were alone which made me feel alienated and mortified. Several times the other stylist would have to leave the person she was with to come over and help. Just for reference that stylist saw AT LEAST 6 clients while I was there including someone getting blonde hightlist, cut, and blow out. She was the last person and she left before me. That other stylist was very friendly but each time she came over with frustration in her eyes and tried to help me I had this oh my god what is happening and I thanked her for helping. I appreciate her. After a few hours I just felt like a shell of a being. Silent in my thoughts. I just couldn't wait to leave. When it was over I paid and even tipped her. Regardless of my trauma I grew up in restaurants and I always tip. I've been on the other side when your trying to keep a roof over your head so I tipped her 20% left and went home defeated. I told two of my best friends about the experience and honestly I just wanted the whole thing to be over. But then I got this text to share a review and for my own mental health I had to share my experience. If anything to help someone else. No one should ever feel shamed and judged like that. She would say it at laugh sometimes which made it so much worse. That stylist should NEVER be allowed to do that to anyone again. I will never go to a hair cuttery again.
