  I had a very awkward experience. Checked online and it said they take walk ins and google said it is not typically busy at this time. Arrived at 1145, walked in with my daughter and 3 women, not actively engaged in anything, just looked at me as I stood at the counter. After a couple, longer than I would expect moments, one of them asked if I had an appointment. I said no but I saw that you take walk ins, they all looked at each other... I assumed they all were wondering who would provide me service. Once again, after a couple awkwardly long moments someone said they could take me. She asked what I would like... I said skin on the side, high fade and a 1 on the top. The lady buzzes a half inch above my ear lobe and starts to fading the cut. I just thought, well, maybe she's just doing something different. I'm not here to correct the cook in the kitchen, she continues to work and after 5 mins I asked if she could buzz my hair closer to the top. I once again said, id like a high fade, tapered at the top and skin on the side. She explained that she misunderstood and apologized. Typically my hair cut, at various locations, takes under 10 mins, its pretty easy. My haircut ended up taking about a half hour. I will say the haircut turned out fine and everyone was relatively nice. I was rather turned off that when I walked in and I was looked at as if I had asked someone to prepare me a double cheese burger in a hair salon. I am a person, with hair, that requires a standard bi-weekly maintenance cut... I'm not cousin it. Another annoyance was the haircut taking a half hour and the miscommunication after giving the lady clear guidance on my haircut. Also, $32 plus tip seemed kinda wild for a maintenance cut but I can understand if you are only doing 2 of them a hour. All in all, I won't go back... it was a very awkward experience for something I believed to be rather routine.

  So typical of Hair Cuttery, I’ve never had a good experience here but I tried to give them a second chance! They just charged my daughter $86 for a SIMPLE trim of the length of her hair w/ wash & blow dry when it was listed as $54! I’m sure it’s done bs about a “long hair” charge but I wasn’t there to talk to them and she was too embarrassed to ask. They didn’t even trim her bangs, it was straight cut of the length of her hair. They are swindlers that should be horribly ashamed of themselves. And can we talk about the fact that this happens to my teenage girls way too often? I’m sick and tired of businesses praying on young girls b/c they think they can.

  My regular stylist is on vacation, so I had the pleasure of meeting Ammar. He was fabulous! I've been to several Hair Cuttery locations in the Springfield, VA area. They never disappoint!
