  By far the worst experience I’ve ever had at a Hair Cuttery. This was my first time at this location, and from the moment I walked in I had a bad feeling that I should have left, but I needed a haircut for a funeral. I arrived 30 minutes early to see if they could take me sooner. My stylist even asked the manager if she could cut my hair since I was already there, but the manager said no and then did nothing for the hour and a half I was in the salon. She easily could have helped. When I finally sat down, I showed my stylist a text from my regular barber in Florida explaining exactly how I wanted my haircut, along with a picture of myself for reference. If someone can’t understand clear instructions and a photo, they shouldn’t pretend they can. The tools were in terrible condition. The clippers vibrated so much they were shaking my head, and the stylist even admitted the scissors were dull and needed to be replaced. That’s not something any customer wants to hear while getting a haircut. The haircut itself was terrible. The fade is uneven with obvious lines, the top ended up shorter than the sides, and the whole thing looks rushed and unprofessional. Thankfully, I told her not to touch my beard. Even after all of that, I still paid in full and left a tip. Hopefully it helps them replace their worn-out equipment. To make matters worse, when I called to book my appointment, I specifically asked for the best men’s haircut stylist they had. When I arrived and saw my stylist wearing an ankle monitor, I immediately had a bad feeling about how this haircut was going to turn out. I try not to judge people based on their past, but unfortunately, the quality of the haircut completely confirmed my concerns. I won’t be returning and would not recommend this location to anyone looking for a quality men’s haircut.

  I visited this salon on June 12 and spent almost six hours there. I booked with Carole due to her profile saying she was a senior stylist and enjoyed doing highlights. I have previously bleached (2025) and then dyed over my hair with salon grade products (last was 2-3 months ago), which Carole was aware of. She said that should not have been an issue and I provided inspo. pictures for the cut and color I desired. My ends were fried off and she said my dark ends didn't take to the bleach. I have had bleach, salon dye, box dye, you name it, its been done to my hair and this has never happened before. Even in the past when I bleached my hair at home my ends were never compromised. I watched her brush my knotty hair and chunks of bleached hair coming out. When checking out she told me numerous times to tell people my ends were on purpose. I didn't fully understand why until I was able to get someone to take a photo and show me. She showed me my hair in the mirror, but I couldn't really tell there was an issue. I was just excited to get out of there due to being in the chair for almost six hours. My cut is also horrendous, I asked for curtain bangs and layers. My bangs are uneven and the layers are choppy. I will never trust anyone at this salon to cut or color my hair. I waited a week, hoping I would warm up to it, but everyone else has also noticed the poor cut and color job. I paid $463.51 for the cut, color, one product, and tip. I used to pay less at a high end salon in Va Beach and leave feeling beautiful. I thought since Carole was a senior stylist that it would be worth the quote. All I wanted was a little dimension, dead ends cut, and curtain bangs. I would not recommend this salon.
