  Honestly I thought I was going into this appointment for a regular shampoo conditioning blow dry for a fair deal and it was honestly A negative experience for me. I didn’t have a lot of time before my Braiding appointment so I thought with permed hair I could go to a hair Cuttery to just get a regular shampoo and conditioner. First of all the Stylist did not even know how to shampoo hair and then the way she managed my hair after I got out of the shampoo bowl was just someone who seemed very timid and afraid of textured hair, even though my hair was permed and straight But at that point I felt like I was getting what I was paying for and I at least thought the bill was gonna be reasonable then I got to the counter to see my bill thinking it was gonna be around the 50s because originally even though I did a regular cut shampoo and conditioner I added a blowout blow dryer come to find out my bill was almost $80 and when I inquired why the bill was so high when I didn’t even get that much of a service they said due to my textured hair, it was increased and I asked them I said so if I didn’t have textured African-American hair, my bill would’ve been lowered and they said yes it would’ve been lowered because you would’ve had softer hair pattern making it more easy and manageable, which is honestly just ridiculous. I honestly just felt so weirded out and annoyed by that answer. I just paid and walked out, but it’s good to know that it’s just better to wash my own hair And just go for a trim somewhere else Never going to a hair Cuttery ever again I definitely learned my lesson. It’s better to go to a small Mom and pop store and just pay a little bit of higher fees then get disrespected and racially targeted through corporate store tactics.

  I’ve been a customer of Hair Cuttery, but more importantly of Huong (Anne) now in the Franklin Farms VA franchise for almost 25 years. Her service is nothing short of exceptional- she has helped me thru many hair/age hair style changes in her cheery knowledgeable way. She is truly like part of my family as we have shared our hearts over the years. She also styled my almost 30yo daughter’s hair for many years as well. I would say in general there are no ‘bad’ hair stylists in that shop. Each one is exceptionally gifted, patient and kind. They will do their best and will give excellent advice based on many years of hard work in the hair industry. Honestly, I truly have never had a bad hair cut, process, or style in all of those years. Over the years I’ve had high lights, color, double processes, several styles and help in going gray now… which I love the result. Hair cuttery prices while high are extremely fair for what you get now days. Other high end shops will pressure you into things you do not want and will overcharge. These women should be cherished and appreciated ❤️💕 Just a phenomenal place for a refresh!

  Wish I’d have thought to get the name of the small blonde lady that cut my hair today, before I left, so I could book with her for my next haircut. It was legitimately probably the best haircut I’ve gotten in years. And she didn’t even have the 8 guard I usually ask for. She did better than every other hair cut place has done, and she just used her hands and scissors. So thanks nameless small blonde lady.
