  Not happy about our visit. Booked the haircut and blow dry 1 hour appointment. Noted that it would be for my 13 yo daughter. I didn’t go back by the chair with her but it was supposed to be wash, cut, style. 10 minutes later they walk up front saying they did the kids cut (no wash or style). When I said it was supposed to include wash, cut, and style she said she didn’t know although when I went to check out the pin pad showed it was for a cut and style and they needed manually change it to a kids cut. The stylist also had a cut on her hand at checkout that was bleeding and my daughter later said that it happened during the cut. That should have been cleaned and gloved up especially dealing with clients.

  I got a silk press done by Tiara Nicole on November 27, 2024. When I arrived, Tiara was not ready for me. She appeared to be tending to another client. After several minutes, I asked the front desk attendant how much longer Tiara would be because I had a flight to catch after my appointment. The attendant talked to Tiara and then Tiara called me over and asked me to sit in an adjacent chair. She continued to tend to her other client. Finally, Tiara walked me over to the shampoo area. After the shampoo, Tiara began to blow dry my hair. I have thick, type 4 shoulder length hair. She blow dried my hair with the comb attachment. She did not use a brush. She also removed the comb attachment from the blow dryer and parted and combed my hair with the blow dryer comb attachment. After a few minutes, she commented that my hair was not heat trained. Then, she told me my hair was still not dry. So, she put me under the dryer with loose hair to finish the drying process. After that, she flat ironed my hair. Upon leaving the salon, I noticed my hair had a burnt smell. This smell lasted a few days. On December 10th, I washed my hair at home. Upon saturating my hair with hot water, I noticed that my hair was not reverting to its natural texture. I also noticed a rotten egg smell coming from my hair. I was so appalled that I called the JCPenney salon right then. I spoke to Frederick and told him that my hair was not reverting after a silk press. I offered to come by the salon so he could see my hair. He told me to come by. I live 5 minutes away so my hair was still wet when I arrived. I spoke to Frederick in person. He said it may take 2 or 3 washes for my hair to revert. He also said I should use a clarifying shampoo. I let my hair air dry and my hair remained straight with no kink or curl. On December 17th, I shampooed my hair again at home. This time, I used a clarifying shampoo. I got the same results as before. About an inch of new growth with the length of my hair still straight. I let my hair air dry loose (no heat or tension) and it remained straight. On December 24th, I returned to JCPenney for a wash so that Tiara and Frederick could see how straight my hair still was. My appointment was scheduled for 10:30. Tiara did not arrive until 10:50. She said she thought my appointment was at 11. I scheduled this appointment weeks in advance via the online site. I also received a confirmation call the day before. I explained to Tiara that my hair was not reverting. She asked me what I meant by “revert.” I said “It did not go back to my natural texture.” Then, she asked me did I have any relaxer in my hair. I did a “big chop” in February 2023. She also asked me did I flat iron my hair. She asked to see pictures of my natural texture, so I showed her a few in my phone. After stepping away to speak to Frederick, Tiara told me they would do an Olaplex treatment and give me some free samples. Next, she began shampooing my hair. I noticed she was scrubbing the ends of my hair pretty hard. Afterwards, I told Tiara that I did not want my hair blow dried. I wanted her to just sit me under the dryer. When my hair was mostly dry, I allowed her to blow it with cool air. At this point, Frederick came over and Tiara explained what she had done to my hair that day. He touched my hair. Tiara told him that my hair was not damaged. I am not going to speculate about what may have been done to my hair without my knowledge or permission. However, after washing my hair 3 times in one month (with 2 shampoos each time) the length of my hair is still silky straight after a silk press from Tiara at JCPenney. It remains straight with no blow drying, flat ironing, tension, or any other heat.

  Ms.Teresa ATE THIS COLOR UP!!!!! I went from black to this beautiful copper! She had the best energy throughout the entire process and patient as we figured out the best color for me. Y’all want your hair laid and slayed hit her up ASAP!!
