  I came in just a shampoo. No blow drying or anything extra. It was the most lacking shampoo I had ever had. Water and little shampoo. My scalp is as dirty as when I walked in the door. My usual place is in Carytown. I was on this side of town, so I made an appointment. Wished I had kept on driving to Carytown.

  This place is so convenient! My stylist was friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable and suggested different ways to do my hair that helped me decide what to do. The prices are very reasonable.

  I wish I could have given 0. Very disappointing experience at Hair Cuttery, WestPark Center, Glen Allen. I received a text message from Hair Cuttery’s automated assistant, Lily, offering 50% off any service (up to $50 off) and confirmed my appointment for 5:30 PM. The confirmation specifically reminded me to mention the promo code 50%OFFSERVICES at checkout. However, after a simple 5-minute haircut with no shampoo, no wash, and no additional services, I was charged the full amount. When I showed them the promotional text, I was told the appointment was generated through their campaign (“Lily”) and that the store could not honor it. The stylist even called the store owner, Kim Ger…, but the discount was still denied. Advertising a promotion, confirming an appointment, reminding customers to use the promo code, and then refusing to honor it at checkout is extremely frustrating. It made me feel misled and like my time didn’t matter. This experience left me feeling that customer service and transparency are not a priority at this location. If you receive promotional offers from Hair Cuttery, I recommend getting written confirmation that the discount will actually be honored before your appointment. I won’t be returning, and I cannot recommend this location based on my experience.

  I got the worst haircut in Richmond here and couple of really very good ones. I started coming to this few months back when I decided to give it a try and got a excellent cut from a stylist who no longer works there. Later another Stylist names Cam also gave a very good cut. Few others in between were also good. But the worst was most recent, 2 weeks back. I walked in and Hailey took me in immediately. She spent very less time on the hair and went for a shampoo. It was fine till that point and then she suddenly said its all done and sent me on my way. Back home I realized how bad it was. On top of the head, left side was long, right side short, and rest sizes all over the place. It was terrible and amateurish. I went back last Wednesday and a fix was done by a different Stylish. It was shorter than I initially wanted, but that's the best that can be done. I don't know if I will visit again, but I will definitely try to avoid Hailey.

  Nykira Thompson always does an amazing job cutting my hair, and not only that, she is always so kind and knowledgeable when I ask questions. Whenever I’m unsure of which hairstyle to get, she gives me suggestions with picture examples and gives me exactly that! She is great, and I will be coming again for her services!
