  I’m extremely disappointed with my experience. I came in with long hair down to my lower back and asked for a collarbone-length cut with layers, and I showed a clear reference photo. During the appointment, it became obvious the stylist wasn’t confident in what she was doing. She kept asking other stylists how to cut layers instead of communicating that she didn’t know how to do it. That alone made me uncomfortable, but I trusted the process. The final result is honestly terrible. The back has some uneven layers, while the front has no layering at all, so it looks completely unblended and inconsistent. The cut is uneven and overall looks very unprofessional. This was a big change for me, and I trusted the stylist to do it properly. Instead, I left feeling upset and lacking confidence in my appearance. I really wish she had been upfront about her skill level instead of going ahead with something she clearly wasn’t experienced in. I would not recommend based on this experience.

  My review is for Taija! At first she did seem not very confident, but I appreciate how she asked questions and checked in with me after doing each part of my hair if it was how I liked. She didn’t mind that I had lots of wants like if she could thin it out in the back or take it shorter. The sideburns ended up being a bit uneven (but that’s ok), and it ended up being exactly the haircut I needed. It’s so refreshing to have short hair again!

  I came in for a trim as a walk in Sunday afternoon. Mercedes was so kind, greeted me, and took me back to her station. After getting shampooed she started to cut my hair when I began to have a medical episode which is normal for me but scary for others to witness or try to help. Mercedes and her co-worker were so comforting and took great care of me in a moment where if I didn’t calm down and get my breathing under control the next phase is my body locks up and I have to lay down until it passes while throwing up. I’m grateful that Mercedes was there. Also, after all that, she also was able to finish my trim. Thank you and please make sure that she is recognized for genuinely being a good person, she has restored my faith in humanity and Haircuttery should be proud to be represented by someone like her.
