  Brianna is great! Very welcoming, asked questions of how you want your hair. She explains things along the way. Excellent haircut and customer service. We will be back!

  Excellent service every time! They make sure you look your best before you walk out the door. Jennifer is outstanding. She came to the rescue after another stylist made a mistake with my haircut. She took the time to fix everything, and the results were exactly what I was hoping for. Since then, I've made it a point to keep coming back because she understands how important it is for me to have my hair looking its best. I highly recommend Jennifer.

  When I walked in, there was one person sitting in the waiting room everybody else was busy cutting hair or sweeping the floor. I sat down and waited for somebody to come check on me. Nobody did. Two ladies walked in neither of which had an appointment, one with two children and the other with one. They were helped as were their children. So I got up, walked to the front counter, the lady looked past me twice. After getting her to finally acknowledge me, I explained it to the lady that I’ve been sitting here waiting on someone to help me, she said oh sorry I can get you in after I’m done doing this other ladies hair. Whatever you do, stand at the counter and make them acknowledge you, or they won’t. Horrible customer service.

  I have been a long time customer of Hair Cuttery (HC). The situation that happened today was the second time it has happened to me, although this was my first visit to the HC in Chesapeake. It has left me with the thought of never returning again for services. I booked for the classic blowout and when I get to the register afterwards, I’m being charged for the deluxe blowout. This was done without any communication whatsoever. Although my visits since December 2025 to HC at another location have been the deluxe blowout, this was of my own choice. I chose to do the regular blowout today as I now have the Design Essential STS in my hair which requires less straightening. This was communicated prior to me coming in as well as when I got there to insure that a sulfate free shampoo would be utilized on my hair. I also made it clear that I wanted the regular blowout without any added products just so my hair didn’t get weighed down. Brianna asked if she could at least put some leave in conditioner in. I agreed to that. While at the register, when I questioned her about the price, she expressed to me that the deluxe blowout is what I previously got. I stated to her that this was true but I booked the regular blowout and that she should have asked me prior to taking it upon herself to do the upgrade. I’m unsure if this is a tactic to obtain more money from clients or not. Either or, this practice does not sit well with me!!

  I was disappointed with my experience here. The first red flag was that there were no posted prices anywhere in the shop. I came in for a basic men's haircut with no shampoo, wash, or additional services, so I expected a straightforward and reasonably priced cut. The second concern was that all four employees were standing around when I arrived, and there were no other customers in the shop. After my visit, I can understand why. I asked for a skin fade blended into finger-length hair on top. What I received was not a skin fade, and the sides appeared to be cut with a #1 guard. Instead of properly cutting and blending the top, the stylist asked if she could just use an #8 guard. When I said I wasn't familiar with what that meant, she seemed surprised. I'm 47 years old and have had countless professional haircuts, and I've never had a stylist ask me that question in that context. Unfortunately, the finished haircut was not what I requested, and I'll likely need to wait for it to grow out before having it corrected elsewhere. To make matters worse, the haircut cost $32. For comparison, places like Sport Clips offer a haircut, shampoo, wash, and style for less than that. Based on my experience, the quality and value simply weren't there. I won't be returning
