Kayla at BUBBLES Salons (Pentagon Centre, Arlington) is the stylist I'd send anyone to. What set her apart started before she touched my hair: a real consultation. She asked how I actually wear my hair day to day, looked at my texture and my previous color, and told me candidly what would work and what wouldn't. Then she delivered exactly that. My color and highlights came out dimensional and natural, the blend is seamless with no harsh lines, and after the treatment she recommended my hair feels noticeably healthier than when I walked in. She also walked me through how to maintain it at home so it lasts between visits.
Just as important: I was taken right on time, never felt rushed, and the salon was spotless and calm. Pricing was clear up front with no surprises, and for this level of skill it's excellent value. Booking was easy.
I've had plenty of appointments where the stylist half-listens. This was the opposite. If you're in Pentagon City or anywhere in Arlington and want someone who listens carefully and then executes flawlessly, book with Kayla. I've already scheduled my next visit.
Jasmine is incredible. She’s done balayage, highlights, lowlights, and all kinds of cuts for me over the years, and I always leave feeling like a million bucks. Sometimes I know exactly what I want, and sometimes I just say, “I trust you,” and let her work her magic. Either way, I’m always thrilled with the results — and always get so many compliments afterward.
But what really makes Jasmine special is that she’s more than just my stylist. I joke that she’s my spirit guide because somehow I leave her chair not only with great hair, but with a little more peace and positivity about the world. She’s incredibly talented, warm, and just one of those people you feel lucky to know. I wouldn’t trust my hair to anyone else.

Extremely Disappointing Experience
I spoke with the manager, Pauline, regarding a haircut my boyfriend received that left him completely unhappy and embarrassed. I didn’t even provide my last name, yet she immediately knew who I was. When I asked to speak with the general manager, Mark, I was instead patronized and questioned about why I was requesting to speak with him and asked for my phone number.
My boyfriend was charged $55 for what amounted to roughly a quarter-inch trim—not even a full haircut—and he left extremely unhappy with the result. He also did not want anyone else at the salon attempting to fix it because of how uncomfortable and poorly treated he felt during the experience.
Unfortunately, this is not the first disappointing experience I’ve had with this salon either. I have personally had instances where my hair was left extremely dry and damaged after a blowout. At this point, the repeated issues with the quality of service are very concerning.
I have requested a full refund for my boyfriend’s service. What made this situation even more frustrating was the lack of professionalism and customer service when I attempted to address the issue with management.
I expect much better when paying $55 for a service, and based on these experiences, I would not recommend this location.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I wanted to share my experience because I’m honestly very disappointed. I had seen some poor reviews from other customers, but I still decided to give this place a chance and form my own opinion.
I paid around $60 for a simple blow-dry—nothing complicated—and unfortunately, I don’t feel like the service was done properly. I had to repeat myself and specifically asked the hairstylist to fix the frizz around the front of my hair. She did try to fix it, and I appreciate that, but unfortunately, it still didn’t look the way I expected.
Thankfully, I didn’t have anything more complicated done because I would have been even more upset. I’m from New York, and I’ve never had an experience like this with a simple blow-dry.
Now I have to go home and fix my hair myself, which is really disappointing after spending $60.
I genuinely wanted to give this place a chance, but unfortunately, I left feeling unhappy with the result. I hope the salon takes this feedback seriously and works on improving the quality of their services.

i have previously visited bubbles and had a great experience with the stylist that had helped and she made my hair look stunning.
However, I was disappointed with my experience on Saturday (different hairdresser). I had a family dinner to attend and simply wanted my short, naturally curly hair styled so that I could feel nice and put together for the evening.
Before I arrived for my appointment, I specifically asked whether there was a stylist who was comfortable working with my hair type. When I arrived, a stylist quickly came to assist me, which I appreciated because she was welcoming. I explained to her that I was looking for a blow-dry/style and described what I wanted. However, she told me she couldn’t really do what I had asked for with my hair type/state as it wouldn’t hold and instead strongly recommended a 15-minute hair treatment. I only had just over an hour to be at the salon so I trusted her judgment and agreed, assuming that as the professional she would recommend something that would leave my hair looking styled and presentable.
After the treatment, she rinsed my hair, applied some cream, and told me I was finished. I was charged around $60 before tip. I left with my hair looking essentially exactly as it had when I walked in, except that it was now wet.
I was extremely disappointed, particularly because I had made the appointment specifically to have my hair styled for an important family dinner. Unfortunately, I was already running short on time and had to leave for my dinner, so I didn’t have the opportunity to stay and raise my concerns in person and I was just too uncomfortable and annoyed to complain.
I understand that not every stylist can work with every hair type or provide every requested style. What was disappointing was not being clearly told what service could actually be provided and then paying for a treatment that did not accomplish what I came in for. I would have much preferred an honest explanation that they could not style my hair as requested.
I hope Bubbles will take this feedback seriously and help in matching clients with stylists who are experienced with the particular hair type requested by a client.
Otherwise, I did see other clients getting great hairdos and cuts so it may have just been mine.
