John Hall grew up in a very talented family of barbers, and he began his barbering career at the ripe, young age of 14 when his mother surprised him with his very own set of barbering clippers. He started providing haircut services to close friends and family as a hobby, but word soon began to spread about John's natural barbering talents and his clientele began to grow. Many years and apprenticeships later, John is one of the most popular barbers in Alexandria. With 26 years of experience under his belt, he loves serving his local community by providing creative and professional barbering services at The Ultimate Barber, and he hopes to continue to satisfy customers with his creative talent for years to come!

    I wish I could give The Ultimate Barber in Alexandria more than 5 stars! John has been my barber for several years. He is extremely skilled with a pair of clippers. People stop me on the street ALL the time and compliment me on my haircut. I’m all too happy to sing John’s praises to them or send them his way. In addition to being great at what he does, he’s such an upbeat people person. I always enjoy chatting with him during my visits. The shop is always clean and bright. Additionally, the crew is friendly and welcoming. If you need a fantastic cut, go here!

    I did not have a great experience here. Bob P cut my hair and he had a difficult time understanding what I wanted. I asked for a high fade and that i like the fade from a 0.5 blade. His hands were very shaky, the haircut is blatantly uneven and asymmetrical, and you can see the layers of the fade clearly. My hair is much longer than what I asked for, so at least I can get it corrected elsewhere. Not only was this a bad haircut but it cost 40$ (and that was the lowest level haircut price too). I didnt say anything during the haircut because I did not trust his ability to correct it. The clippers kept catching my ear and I was worried that he would cut it with how shaky his hands were (he would clip around my ear without holding it out of the way). It scratched and hurt my head whenever he used the comb because he was so forceful. I think your experience depends on who you get, because I was looking at other people's hair getting cut by Carlos and Kirk and they looked great. If you go, I recommend booking an appointment with one of them. I made the mistake of walking in.
