Barber “lined me up” and gave me the worst receding hairline and then blamed my hairline for his mistake…. Thank you for my worst cut before my vacation! #donedirty

I haven’t cut my hair in 6+ months as my old barbershop went out of business. I am very anxious regarding new barbers and instead opted to just not cut my hair. I checked around for well-reviewed barbers and stumbled across Bootlegged Barber. Angela was personable and kind, but more importantly, did a tremendous job with my hair. She made sure I was happy before moving on. Couldn’t recommend more.

I am giving two stars because the shop was clean, everyone was friendly, and professional. I understand there's more than one barber. I had a barber about 3 weeks ago that cut my hair here. This barber did the exact opposite of what I asked him to do. The only reason I go to a barber is to get a haircut that I want. Or at least something close to it. Even if they just tried their best. I explained it very well. I said do not give me a fade, do not cut my hair above this line, he cut around my ears and it was nothing like the image I showed him, and it was above what I wanted him to cut. At that point it was too late. I also don't understand why it costs almost $40 for a 30 minute haircut. I make $40 an hour because I've been in my industry for 20 years working my way up to that. This means they are making $80 per hour. Regardless if you have customers back to back. I do not go in to be pampered with a hot towel and all this other stuff that maybe other people can go in for. I go in for a quality haircut. This is the second time I've been to the shop, two different barbers, both times were a fail. It is definitely not worth $80 per hour. It should have been a $10 haircut. It is that simple. This is why my wife learned how to cut hair, and she will from now on cut my hair and my son's hair. Even though I was extremely disappointed, I felt bad and left him a total of $64 for my haircut. Because I told him if he tried I would pay him that. Even though I do not believe he tried, I still paid him that. One last thought, if you were a young barber, maybe less than 5 years in the industry, in your 20s, you are not entitled to charge people the highest price possible. I've been to professional barbers that only charged $25 for a 25-minute haircut that they did extremely well. Be honest with your capabilities, and give a fair price for your ability.

Gave these guys a shot because of their great reviews and was not disappointed. Kayla was awesome, she listened to what I wanted, asked questions and made sure I felt confident in what she was doing, was very easy to talk to, and ultimately gave me a great haircut. My only critique is the price is on the high side for this side of the valley, usually this price point is more so a Sugarhouse / Foothill pricing; but I would say the quality of service was worth the price.
