I visited Sephora today expecting to get some help finding a few products, but unfortunately, no one was available to assist me. I walked around the store for quite a while and couldn’t find an employee to ask for help. Customer service is a big part of the shopping experience, especially when you’re looking for skincare or makeup recommendations. I ended up leaving disappointed because I wasn’t able to get the assistance I needed. I hope the store can improve staffing and be more attentive to customers in the future.

During my trip to Houston, I visited this Sephora. Unfortunately, the customer service was disappointing, especially in the fragrance department.
I was waiting for assistance because I wanted to purchase a perfume. Even though I had arrived before the other people she was helping, the employee in the fragrance section told me to wait until she was available because she was assisting other “customers.” At that point, I was left wondering: so what am I then?
Despite that interaction, I continued shopping. Throughout my visit, no one made a real effort to help me. A few employees briefly acknowledged me, but then walked away without offering any assistance. The only person who genuinely helped me was Kendall, and I appreciate her professionalism.
Overall, this experience fell far below the standard I have come to expect from Sephora. Despite spending a considerable amount of money, I received poor customer service and was not even offered a complimentary sample. I have visited many Sephora locations and have never felt so undervalued as a customer.
I do not recommend this store.

Store is definitely overwhelming and then especially for only two employees to run the checkout line
Honestly, this store doesn’t need a separate checkout area because waiting in line for more than 30 minutes just to check out for one item it’s definitely ridiculous

I accompanied a coworker to Sephora yesterday because she had been asking me for product recommendations. I’m a makeup artist, so we planned a shopping trip to help her find a few items and restock some products she already loved.
The store was not busy (around 4:30 PM on a Tuesday), yet no one offered assistance during our visit. When I asked the associate at the front, an African American woman, for makeup sponges, the interaction felt dismissive and unwelcoming. Rather than feeling like a valued customer, I felt like I was inconveniencing her.
Throughout the visit, I personally helped my coworker select and test products. I had previously brought her into this location to find eyebrow products, and she returned specifically to purchase a refill based on that experience.
What stood out most was the checkout experience. My coworker was purchasing several items, including Huda Beauty powder, two powder puffs, a deodorant, a blush, and a Kosas eyebrow pencil. While checking out, she asked the associate, another African American woman, “No samples today?” The response was a blunt, “No!” with no further conversation, no offer to redeem Beauty Insider points, and no attempt to provide a positive customer experience.
The overall atmosphere felt cold, unfriendly, and uninterested in helping customers. Experiences like this are exactly why more people choose pickup and delivery instead of shopping in stores. The products were great, but the customer service was disappointing. If my coworker hadn’t been so excited to purchase her items, I honestly would have walked out without buying anything.
Sephora has built its reputation on beauty expertise and customer experience. Unfortunately, this visit did not reflect those standards.
